S.C. Republican gubernatorial nominee Nikki Haley says she will release her legislative emails on Friday – three months after they were initially requested by members of the media in the wake of the first of three affair allegations made against her.
Haley made the announcement Thursday during a campaign stop in Charleston, S.C. as she was unveiling her education plan.
Haley’s emails were originally sought back in May by the press after our founding editor, Will Folks, admitted under duress to having had an “inappropriate physical relationship” with Haley during the spring of 2007. Folks released text messages and phone records to support his claim (and his rationale for coming forward) but he has yet to produce a “smoking gun.”
In addition to the texts and phone records, multiple witnesses have stepped forward to say that they saw Haley’s car parked outside of Folks’ downtown Columbia, S.C. townhouse on numerous occasions late at night during the period when he claims the affair took place. Haley is also said to have confided in one of her former staffers about the relationship.
Folks has already addressed what he expects messages from Haley’s legislative email account to show … which is not a whole helluva lot.
“Only a few of the emails in my possession came from Rep. Haley’s state account, as she typically chose to correspond with me using her Yahoo account,” Folks said.
Frankly, we’re guessing that Haley’s “legislative email release” will be a non-event, particularly seeing as her campaign has had three months to go through the messages and handle anything incriminating. One potential wild card will be whether Haley will also release information from her computer hard drives, which would contain a record of when certain emails may have been deleted.
Earlier this month, Haley’s opponent – S.C. Senator Vincent Sheheen – released both emails and hard drive information from his state account.

1. You don’t seem to know what the word duress means.
2. Where have these witnesses stepped? Are they inside your head with the writing staff?
3. A strawman is when you make up an issue, predict the outcome, and take credit for being right. I’ll use it in a sentence. Billy uses strawman arguments, day old news observations, Google keyword searches, and press releases to drive traffic to his website.
4. Quoting yourself is so 2009.
5. Remember all that forensic whatever you and your lawyer were doing to your hard drives? Text messages talking about you writing the story don’t really qualify as proof.

FYI, Haley describes herself as an “accountant,” but the South Carolina QuickBook/Intuit User Group describes her as “intermediate proficiency,” meaning “bookkeeper.”
She is listed as:
(1) not capable of closing the books (of her family-owned clothing store, Exotica International, Inc.) at year-end;
(2) not capable of processing payroll or year-end Forms W-2 or 1099; and
(3) not capable of producing state or federal income taxes for Exotica (http://www.scsos.com/index.asp?n=18&p=4&s=18&corporateid=357347) which is either a C or an S corporation.
Cannot balance her company’s books or file her personal income taxes on time?
Maybe this explains hustling “consulting fees” for that big civil engineering company.

I guess the way I see it is ….you played it correctly by pre-empting the release with your own disclosure and controlling the information for your families protection.

The people that say you made it all up to get her a sympathy rebound ……..are either so much brighter and more creative than I thought the political world entailed or are seriously in need of a real life.
