Reeves’ Other Run

South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Morgan Bruce Reeves – who is representing both the Green and United Citizens parties on the November ballot – will not be the next governor of South Carolina.   How do we know this?  Well, he’s a fringe candidate with no money and some serious credibility issues – and his campaign platform consists of every South Carolinian donating $100 to state government so that the nation’s worst education system can operate year-round (including the summer months).

In addition to this ridiculousness, Reeves has offered some Alvin Greene-esque material on his Quixotic quest.

“If I become the next governor, it will be like building the pyramids of Egypt, and I’ll be pharaoh,” Reeves told The (Columbia S.C.) State newspaper recently (see story here).

Sheesh …

Fortunately for him, Reeves has a back-up plan for when his gubernatorial aspirations fall through.  According to school board filings, “Bruce Reeves” of Irmo, S.C. is a candidate for the school board of Lexington-Richland District 5 -  a position he filed for using same address as the “Morgan Bruce Reeves” that’s running for governor.

In case you’re wondering, Reeves is allowed to run for both offices.  In fact, he can run for as many offices as he wants – he just can’t occupy more than one of them at the same time.

Anyway, we’ll keep you posted on what ancient Egyptian title Reeves intends to ascribe to himself should he win a seat on his local school board …
