By FITSNews || Washington Redskins’ defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is being put in his place by new head coach Mike Shanahan after the two-time Pro Bowler skipped the team’s offseason workouts. Specifically Shanahan made Haynesworth take a conditioning test as a prerequisite for participating in training camp – a test Haynesworth has now failed twice.
Haynesworth, who signed a seven-year, $100 million contract with the Redskins last February, is unhappy that the team is moving to a 3-4 defensive formation. He skipped the off-season workouts in protest – although he did report to camp 20 pounds lighter this year.
One of the most talented defensive lineman in the league, Haynesworth has had his share of problems since coming into the league in 2002.
In 2006, Haynesworth opened a thirty-stitch cut on the head of Dallas Cowboys’ center Andre Gurode when he infamously removed Gurode’s helmet and stomped his cleat on the lineman’s head. Haynesworth was suspended by the league for five games without pay as a result of the incident.
Haynesworth is a native of Hartsville, S.C. He played his college ball at the University of Tennessee.
Shanahan is entering his first year as the Redskins’ head coach and vice president of football operations. He won back-to-back Super Bowls as the head coach of the Denver Broncos in 1997 and 1998 but failed to make the playoffs during his last three years in Denver.
He was fired following the 2008 season.
Incidentally, the drama between Shahahan and Haynesworth comes just a week prior to the premiere of the “Real Housewives of D.C.” on Bravo.

Sic Willie:
Like Albert, I am also a native of Hartsville. I confidently speak for the entire town when I say that Albert is a source of great pride for our fair city. It is a constant source of great personal enjoyment for me to read about the wonderful accomplishments of a fellow Hartsvillian, such as those you have mentioned above.
Like most in Hartsville, I knew Albert was of special character from an early age. Throughout his life, Albert has continuously personified hard work, commitment, honesty, and moral character.
As such, I appreciate you taking the time to highlight many of Albert’s greatest achievements in your article. I feel that you have hit on many of the highlights that are a constant reminder of how Albert is, in the minds of all of Hartsville, a beacon of goodness and purity that represents all that is good and right in this crazy world of ours. However, you have been remiss in failing to mention a lawsuit currently pending against Albert, which I feel deserves considerable recognition for its level of accomplishment. You see, Albert “allegedly” knocked up a stripper in Brooklyn some time back, and abandoned her promptly thereafter. She is now hitting him up to the tune of $10 million. You should take particular interest in this lawsuit, as the pregnant stripper and Haynesworth baby-mama-to-be is supposedly a “Salma Hayek look-alike.” You can read all about it here:
http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/05/26/albert-haynesworth-reportedly-being-sued-by-pregnant-stripper-fo/
I mention this lawsuit because I feel it is important that Albert receive due recognition for all of his wonderous achievements. I hope that you too will recognize Albert’s continued efforts to make the world a better place.
Again, thank you for this wonderful piece on Hartsville’s favorite son and greatest ambassador.

can you please explain to me where you mean is his “place” that shanahan is putting him? is the article just an excuse to foment impotent white rage at the lazy _______ who makes 100million dollars? lets see. it seems inconsistent that you praise a wortless piece of sh-t like lady gaga as a musical and artistic genius but denigrate the best DL in the nfl with race baiting codeworded article titles. i mean theyre both just overpaid entertainers, right?

I assume her punitive damages would be because she is afraid the baby will look like Albert. I notice she has a lawyer with a perfect Mafia name.

In the short time Haynesworth has been with the Skins he has already gained a reputation with the fans. If you sit in the statium you will hear and feel the love… Oh look, Haynesworth is in. Get the stretcher and a box of twinkies ready! Oh look, it’s Haynesworth. $10 says he twist his ankle(AGAIN)on the first play and spends the rest of the game snarling on the sidelines! Good thing the Skins management has him on a performance contract because so far he hasn’t performed squat. But it’s a damn good thing he lost some weight but he’ll need to lose another 50 lbs.more if he wants to stop crushing his own ankles.

He’ll throw Hartsville 1 million of his 100 million and he’ll be all the favorite son again.

Where is Clyburn when it comes to being pissed off about the S.C. State fiasco? Black on Black crime, plain and simple.

What is really going on overseas? Could it be that we are ripping the oil in Iraq and the dope in Afganistan? Burma is next. Ever wonder why they would not accept outside assistance after the storm? They didn’t want anyone to spot the poppy fields. The real bonus is having troops on both sides of Iran. Pretty convenient.
Kind of interesting that the location of the “war” follows the relocation of crop.

As a senior in high school, Albert would not play hard for fear of being injured and losing his college scholarship. Went to Tennesse.
Later, he taunted USC fans from the sidelines after a Tennesse vitory in Columbia. What a jerk.
Now, this latest crap. What a big baby.
Hey Albert, remember where you came from. Do better. Else, you will be sorry later. Just saying….
