By FITSNews || We occasionally make jokes about South Carolina being one of the fattest and laziest states in America … which makes sense because let’s face it, South Carolina is one of the fattest and laziest states in America (click here and here if you don’t believe us).
And fat jokes are funny … at least until you think about $5.3 billion we pour down the drain each year on obesity-related health care costs.
That’s not so funny.
Anyway, if you’re interested in helping on both fronts we’ve got just the thing – the 2010 Lowcountry Start! Heart Walk, which is being sponsored by the American Heart Association.
We were turned on (to this project) by AMA lobbyist Yarley Steedly, who paid a visit to FITS headquarters on Thursday to share some of the details on the event and once again turn us on … (sorry, but she’s hot!) … to her Heart Walk page, where she’s helping raise money for the cause.
Check out the links below if you want to pitch in … but every bit as importantly, get out and walk a mile today!
Trust us, South Carolina … your ass will thank you.
