By FITSNews || After taking it on the chin during an exceptionally cold winter, “global warming” is back with a vengeance this summer …
In fact, here in the concrete armpit of the banana republic of South Cackilacky (a.k.a. Columbia, South Carolina), it’s going to be another record-breaking month of triple-digit temperatures – with a scorching July coming on the heels of the hottest month in more than a century.
From WLTX TV 19 (CBS – Columbia):
After June tied for the hottest ever on record for Columbia, it appears that Columbia will set the third hottest July on record. As of July 26th, we are still on pace for the hottest summer ever in Columbia’s records (dating back to 1887).
Yikes.
That means you might want to put down your trendy energy drinks and start chugging water, people.
The recent heat wave is taking hold all across the country (Washington D.C. recently had a record streak of twelve consecutive 90 degree days) and around the world, as 2010 is threatening to unseat 2005 as the hottest year on record.
That will depend on the interaction of El Nino and La Nina – the latter of which is expected to cool the planet over the second half of the calendar year.
In the meantime, cue Nelly …

Worse, on a global scale, May and June 2010 were the hottest ever recorded on this planet (World Meteorological Organization). Anyone want to compute the odds of that happening assuming a stationary climate?

It’s all George Bush’s fault!!!

Really worse – - despite the cold in the US east, this past winter was actually, worldwide, the WARMEST on record. Global warming is REAL and only fools don’t get it. It is SOFA KING OBVIOUS. The eastern US is only a SMALL FRACTION of the world land mass.

Short of changing the El Nino and La Nina effect as well as the Earth’s proximity to the sun or the sun’s current temperature, there is nothing we can do about it.

Guys, it’s called WEATHER. Some places have have hot spells and some places have cold spells. Don’t believe the BS and fraud that is being pushed on this. If you’re dumb enough to believe all this man-made climate change, there are Government Motors dealers ready to sell you a very expensive (and profitable) government subsidized electric car. You can use it to drive to Al Gore’s new ocean front estate for a visit. Be sure to take your massage table & warming oils!

Our records are not even the blink of an eye in the lifespan of the planet and the Chicken Littles and Algores are in panic mode yet again.
“And like, I went to the, like, beach and it was, like, so hot and it was like summer and like, I sweated and stuff . . . ”
Correlation does not equal causation but socialism is still socialism. Some people will need to be hit over the head with a fraudulent hockey stick graph before they understand (or admit) what’s really going on–just more big government fascism with made up stories aimed at stupid/gullible/”I want to believe” crowd who apparently don’t already have enough stress in their lives so they have to worry about fantasy problems like man-made global warming.
When icebergs cover the land mass of most of modern civilization in a few hundred years or so and man-made pollution is reduced to virtually nil and the earth starts to warm back up anyway, THEN I want to see how many believers in man-made global warming there are.
Face it folks: despite what sunspots and other natural climate cycles are doing right now, our earth’s core–according to all the scientists–is slowly cooling down and in a few thousand years our planet may be a LOT colder than it is now. If there were man-made global warming going on, we should be ENCOURAGING it as much as possible to offset our planet’s aging and growing colder as it does.

WS, you are a true man of science. What I can tell you with certainty: if you are right, which does not appear to be the case, you are right for the wrong reasons.
WTC: Oh my gawd. There is so much wrong stuff in your post that I will not try to correct it. Correlation does not equal causation but socialism is still socialism? That nugget of wisdom will be posted on my stat department door for all to see.
Thou shalt not blog with Republicans about climate change.

Lundasoid, be very careful or WTC will hit you on the head with a “hockey stick”. Oh ….. I forgot….. the hockey stick was fraudulent and actually had no basis in reality. So it certainly would not hurt you; not that I expect WTC to be wielding it.

Why don’t you compute the odds yourself, ‘roid? Or is this another one of your famous challenges that you will fail to see through?
One point WTC raises that you cannot refute, however, is how relatively little data is available regarding recorded temperatures versus how long this planet has been around. Not to mention the fact that the accuracy of the data is in question.
I do appreciate you adopting my abbreviation style, though. I always knew I could teach you a thing or two.

Follow the money….the people pushing the “sky is falling” have a monetary interest in doing so. They pass it off as “science” and say it has been “proven” beyond all doubt that humans are causing it. And somehow…LOL…we can stop it.

OK Mister Wizards, won’t warmer ocean water promote the growth of algae (the primary source of the planet’s oxygen)?
