By FITSNews || Millions of long-term unemployed Americans will be receiving government checks again after the U.S. House passed a $34 billion extension of unemployment benefits. The money will cover six months worth of unemployment checks for approximately 3 million Americans who have been without jobs for so long that they have run out of standard benefits.
Having already been passed by the U.S. Senate, the measure will be signed into law “immediately” by President Barack Obama.
Both Republicans and Democrats in Congress agreed that this money should be provided, but Republicans argued that the massive tab should have been covered using unspent “stimulus” funds.
Over 8 million Americans have lost their jobs during the current economic recession – and prospects for job growth remain bleak.
Meanwhile, Congress with this decision has added $34 billion to a 2010 deficit that passed $1 trillion last month and will likely reach $1.3 trillion by the end of the federal fiscal year on September 30.

If only Alvin Greene had come along before Obama.

One must ask oneself…how long will selfish and short-sighted politicians be enabled to enslave our children and grandchildren to immoral and completely unsustainable debt?

…or before George Bush, or before Mark Sanford

I don’t get it. What does Mark Sanford have to do with the national deficit?
