By FITSNews || A Lance Corporal with the S.C. Highway Patrol has been fired from his job after being arrested on drug charges in Horry County, S.C. over the weekend.
Bobby Lee Spurgeon, 42, was charged with possession of cocaine and LSD after being arrested on Friday. He was released the following day on a $10,000 bond, but remains the subject of an ongoing investigation, according to local law enforcement.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is cooperating with that investigation, according to spokesman Sid Gaulden, and the Horry County Police are expected to shed some additional light on Spurgeon’s arrest later this week.

LSD? Now I’m really scared of law enforcement.

If you have lived in SC over the last 40 years, you have witnessed the morphing of the SCHP from courteous (even if they were charging you) public servants to thugs. They count on their use of “command voice” they’re taught at thug school in Columbia, rather than higher level thinking skills needed to deal with the public. This doen’t surprise me in the least. Of course if you have legislative tags, they’re regular pussycats.

Thugs is correct, but they are slaves to the priviliged class. There sole purpose has become to extract wealth from the lower and middle class.

I was recently riding with a coworker who was doing 80 in a 60 zone when we saw the SCHP cruiser on the side of the road. Against my advice, she quickly exited at the next opportunity, and was of course followed by the patrolman.
Despite my fears, he was courteous and professional, and didn’t challenge her contention that she had quickly exited because she needed to use the Cracker Barrel restroom. He even showed her how the fine and points would be reduced were she to pay by a certain date.
Maybe an exception, but there are good ones out there.

I can imagine that there are quite the number of SCHP officers that are on the take along the I-95 corridor, along with the Legislators of those respected counties fortunate enough to have that lovely stretch of interstate pass over their borders. I can further imagine that it is not only a problem with our state but in many. Either way, good to see someone talking about some interesting things the government agencies get into for once.

I thought Mark Sanfraud put somebody over there to clean that group up, oh wait he is only drawing a huge tax payer funded salary.

Sanfraud is THE problem. Sh*t rolls downhill. It’s all rolling from his office.

I would love to see any of you lazy morons do the job the SCHP do! You wouldn’t be able to handle it for a day! 99.9 percent of these men and women do their job perfectly with no problems. Sounds like the ones complaining are just the lawbreakers than have been caught!!!!!
