Haley’s Lead On Sheheen Sliced In Half

negative nikki

By FITSNews || She’s still cruising, but S.C. Rep. Nikki Haley’s lead over State Senator Vincent Sheheen in the Palmetto state’s gubernatorial race has been sliced in half over the past two weeks – at least that’s according to polling data released Monday by Rasmussen Reports.

Haley obliterated U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett last week to claim the state’s Republican gubernatorial nomination (story here).  Three weeks ago, Sheheen demolished S.C. Superintendent of Education Jim Rex to become the Democratic nominee (story here).

According to polling data released on June 14, Haley enjoyed a 55-34 percent advantage over Sheheen.  But according to Monday’s poll, that lead is now “just” 52-40 percent.

Despite the slippage, Haley is widely-regarded as the state’s most popular political figure right now, riding a wave of support from tea party activists, Republicans and fiscally-conservative independents concerned with the recent growth of state government.  For his part, Sheheen is viewed as a strong Democratic contender – although that’s not necessarily a sentiment that we share.

Frankly, we don’t think Sheheen is ready for prime time … and even if he was, his voting record is loaded with fiscally liberal votes that Haley’s campaign should be able to exploit.

One lingering issue, though, is how the mainstream media will handle the as-yet unproven allegations of marital infidelity that have been raised against Haley.  She has categorically denied these allegations and successfully portrayed them as part of the “good ol’ boy” attacks against her.  Of course, there is circumstantial evidence to support at least one of these claims, and multiple media sources tell FITS that they have spoken to enough witnesses (and caught Haley in enough lies) to justify running a story about her deceptiveness and evasiveness in response to the accusations.

Our sense is that if Sheheen keeps the race close, the legacy media will keep pursuing the story.  If he can’t keep it close, then they will be much more likely to let it drop.

What part of Haley’s resume has convinces you she’s “ready for primetime?” Her vast legislative record? Her hipocritical philosophy on transparency? Or her outright lying (alleged by you) about your affair?

Haley is about as transparent as lead. But Sheheen will be hard pressed to get his numbers up to where he is at least competative with Nikki. Given that, as you summized, the msm will drop any “investigation” in to Nikki’s wanderlust and barring some last minute political bomb, Nikki will most likely be the next governor of SC(GOD have mercy on us). Of course that political bomb could always be the ever elusive video that is suppose to be floating around out there. Or someone could finally sit down and have a talk with Larry Marchant’s wife and see what information she shares on the subject. But given the voting public’s recent infatuation with Nikki, even if the allegations turned out to be true they could propel her into the Governor’s office (and maybe a “spread” in Playboy or Penthouse).

There are several instances were Rasmussen polls a race immediately after a ‘headline’ primary win by one of the candidates. These immediately-after-the-primary’ polls showing a huge surge for said candidate, and then shortly afterwards a second poll shows a much closer race.

The Kentucky Senate race is one example. Rand Paul’s lead went from 25 (1 day afetr primary win) to 6 points (1-2 weeks later). North Carolina Senate is another. Rasmussen showed the Democrat primary winner down only one point after trailing by high single digits for months. Other polls a few days later showed it back to pre-primary levels.

At this point this is an 8-14 point race. It will likely remain so until Labor Day, barring a major gaffe or disclosure.

Sheheen has a cedible chance of winning. A decently funded and respected Democrat, which Sheheen is, will get 43% almost without trying. The other real question is whether he can get the 7% needed for victory. That isn’t easy, but 7% isn’t THAT much either.

    Her eyes are NOT CRAZY!

What you are seeing in the photograph above is the look on Nikki’s face when she sees a hot guy!

You would be very lucky to see this lookie from Nikki!

Notice the focus and complete absorption of all her senses!

Look closely and you will also see the flaring of her beautiful nostrils!

I am sure the little black hairs on the back of her neck are raised!

    This woman is electric!

All her cells are in tune to the political vibrations surrounding her!

During the debates, I am sure Nikki’s laser-stare will burn several holes into the hermaphrodite body of the Loser Her-heen!

    “Owwwwwwwwww . . . !”

I can hear Her-heen’s screams of pain!

He’s like a burning bug under Nikki’s facial magnifying glasses in the hot sun on the plain of India!

To repeat: Those eyes are NOT CRAZY!

    They are burning with desire!

    Feel the burn!

    vicupstate,

I agree with what you stated. Just the numbers are different; I see it settling in to an 8 to 10 point race till election day.
The only thing that could change that is if more Republican BVD’s and panties drop to the floor and the naked asses tussle on the sheets.
I also think the Republican base is more motivated this election cycle than any other cycle since I have been here in the last ten years. Even though Obama is not on the ballot, his policies over the last 16 months will be a motivator for the Republicans and a stay-home anchor for the Democrats.
The Democrats also have a problem with their Senatorial candidate on the ballot. A person with no visible means of support and would lose a debate to a third grader just does not inspire the base. If you analyze the ballot and Sheheen loses, do the Democrats see election day come and go without taking a single state-wide office? It is very possible.
Bottom line; the Republicans are more inspired and enthusiastic about this election. Haley will win and so will most of, if not all of the Republicans running for State-wide office.
I imagine most Democrats will be shaking their and wondering why, in a year of so much Republican scandal, could they be shut out.
Look over your shoulder, that’s the ghost of Obama, and he has pretty much governed badly and tarnished the Democrat brand.
This will be a nation-wide phenomenon, to a greater or lesser degree in different locales, Obama’s ghost influencing the 2010 election.
The Republicans in SC have some problems, but at least they don’t have Obama and Green.

The Karen needs to demand that Bailout, Henry and Andre show up and say that they will support her and not Shithan…..if they will not do it ….let folks know they are not ….expose them…because the finance Directors like Barry Wynn are pushing money toward Shithan.

And what about Bailouts law suit demanding the ad’s being run for Halley be removed …how about now.

So far, no evidence has been produced to prove Nikki Haley’s alleged marital infidelity. And I haven’t read anything to make me NOT vote for her. I’m sure Sheheen has skeletons in his closet, too, but they have simply never been published. The likelihood that Sheheen, a friendly, nice-looking guy, has screwed around on HIS spouse, is 60% (see below). Let’s condemn every politician who has screwed around, starting with Thomas Jefferson and continuing up to Sperm Thurmond.

I googled “STATISTICS ON MARITAL INFIDELITY” and the first hit, http://www.allaboutlifechallenges.org/marital-infidelity.htm, says:

    Marital Infidelity – The Facts
The facts about marital infidelity (sexual unfaithfulness to a spouse) are astounding. Polls show that although 90% of married people disapprove of extramarital relationships, statistics from a national survey indicate that 15% of wives and 25% of husbands have experienced extramarital intercourse. These numbers increase by 20% when emotional affairs and sexual relationships without intercourse are included. Another source, The Monogamy Myth, authored by Peggy Vaughan, approximates that 60% of husbands and 40% of wives will have an affair at some time in their marriage.

    EB,

8-10 points might be right, but I gave some benefit of doubt to the GOP. You have a point about the GOP enthusiasm, but that is not the final say in this, IMO. Obama is not anywhere near as unpopular as Reagan was in 1982 or Clinton was in 1994.

First, Sanford is a disaster anyway you look at it, and that will be a factor. Not to mention the scandals around Charlie Sharp, Thomas Ravenel, Jakie Knotts, Joe Wilson etc. The SC GOP brand is tarnished especially after the nasty primary.

Greene is a problem, but that race has never been in play, so it is not that disheartening to the Dem base. Speaking of ‘in play’ the other statewide races are not a lock for the GOP. Superintendent of Education, Lt. Gov. and Attorney General all have the potential to be in play. If Alan Wilson is half as dumb as his father, he will struggle if the Dem runs a good campaign. Zais seems strong, but 12 years of Democrats in that seat shows the state is skeptical of putting a member of the voucher loving GOP in that office (Supt. of Education). Lt. Gov. is Charleston versus Florence, with the GOPer dispised by a significant block of nutty GOP voters.

The strongest argument that Sheheen has a genuine chance to win is his support from the powerbrokers of business. That group almost always gets it’s choice elected. Coupled with virtually every member of the Legislature, they combine for a potent force. The Chamber of Commerce/Titans of Industry are fed up with Sanfraud and are not going to let ‘Sanford in a skirt’ get a pass. Bob Royal is a MAJOR LEAGUE rainmaker and he wouldn’t get involved in a hopeless case.

It remains to be seen if Haley can raise gobs of cash either. The RGA is a possibility, but there are about 35 other states with Governorship on the line, most are far more critical to the RNC politically.

2010 will be a GOP year, but the magnitude remains to be seen. Unlike 1994, there are fewer open seats in the House and the element of surprise is completely gone. The Dems never saw it coming in ’94, but they are preparing for this one. Even so, there are races that fall outside the ‘wave’. The 1974 SC Governor’s race is one such example. Dems clobberred the GOP within the state and across the nation, yet the GOP took the Governorship for the first time in a century. Yes, there were unusual circumstances then, but who is to say that won’t happen again.

Upsets occur in every election cycle. The Governor’s race is more ripe to be one, than any other race in SC this year.

Yeah- and Haley is endorsed by the Alaskan Grifter/Quitter

Palin to refund most of defense fund money
$386,000: Investigator says there were ethics violations.

An investigator has determined former Gov. Sarah Palin’s legal defense fund broke state ethics law and said Palin has agreed to settle the matter by having the trust return more than $386,000 to donors.

Tim Petumenos, an Anchorage attorney hired by the state Personnel Board to investigate, said Thursday the legal defense fund violated state law because it “constituted using public office to obtain private benefit.” He said the fund, which was set up while Palin was still governor, inappropriately said it was the “official website” of Palin, and made reference to her work in public office. Petumenos upheld an ethics complaint that was filed 15 months ago against the trust.

The trust has 90 days to return all the thousands of donations it received before she resigned as governor last summer, according to the settlement agreement signed by Palin.

Palin advisers created the Alaska Fund Trust in April 2009 to help her pay legal bills she incurred defending herself in the “Troopergate” investigation and a series of other ethics complaints. Palin’s personal lawyer, Tom Van Flein of Anchorage, “strongly advised” the trust be vetted by the Alaska Department of Law to make sure it was legal under Alaska ethics law, Petumenos wrote.

But Palin instead chose to follow the advice of another attorney who recommended against seeking input from the attorney general, and instead to simply contest the “inevitable” ethics complaint when it came, Petumenos wrote in his report.

“The prudent thing to have done in my opinion would have been to go to the attorney general in advance,” Petumenos told reporters on Thursday.

Balsak, I have a blessing (or curse, depending on how you look at it). May you be our next Governor or President.

Haley DOES have that whole “Crazy Eyes” thing going on. Like that “Runaway Bride” gal over in Georgia (Jennfier Wilbanks) that ran away from her finance right before their wedding.

Balsak, I know you want to be provocative and witty. But, sorry, you are just plain nasty and stupid, so shut up or put some effort into saying something intelligent and insightful. And, I am sorry that your life sucks so much. We all wish you a better day tomorrow.

No way he is catching up with Haley, it sounds like ACORN has been in the middle of the polling place. For S. C. to keep spending ourselves senselessly is stupid. That is what we are trying to stop from happing but our democratic lawmaker’s won’t quit with the Government slavery. All of the lie’s will get these people in trouble from the top down in our government system.

First we had James Cliburn-6th district takes away all of our State’s right’s when it comes to money from the U.S. Government and we have to do what they tell us to do with the money, and for what projects. The only way out of this is to sue the govt. and James Cliburn for what he did in the Stimulus bill. It is sad when a political party will lie about anything just to get any kind of upper hand for any reason at all, where is our Frederick Douglas when we need him? He could explain the truth to the people in language they might understand, English.
