By FITSNews || S.C. Senator Vincent Sheheen might want to buckle his chin strap … this could be a bumpy ride.
On Thursday, the South Carolina Republican Party launched the first of what it promised would be many press releases using the word “liberal” to describe the Democratic gubernatorial nominee.
“Senator Sheheen is a liberal in moderate’s clothes,” SCGOP Chairwoman Karen Floyd said. “But we are going to make sure that voters know the truth about his voting record come November. Today is just the tip of the iceberg.”
The initial GOP release focuses on immigration, and claims that Sheheen “sought to create loopholes in South Carolina’s anti-illegal immigration law.”
“When it comes to illegal immigration, Senator Sheheen was too busy trying to appease ultra liberals to realize that South Carolinians expect tough action,” Floyd said. “Unfortunately, this is part of a larger pattern with Senator Sheheen – a voting record that doesn’t reflect South Carolina values, and instead follows the Washington liberal model of more government, more spending and more debt.”
South Carolina’s immigration law passed two years ago. It was initially perceived as one of the nation’s strongest pieces of legislation, but perceptions have obviously changed in the wake of the new Arizona law.
Sheheen will face GOP nominee Nikki Haley for the right to succeed Mark Sanford as South Carolina’s governor in November.

The problem with Vincent Sheheen is not that he is Liberal, it is that he is incompetent and weak. I am a Liberal, and I don’t feel comfortable voting for Sheheen. He’s no Liberal; he’s a follower with no beliefs.

We girls up here love Vincent. The problem is the poor boy has not been told by his pollsters and advisors what he is to believe in and what he is supposed to say to get elected. He’s a sweet boy, but just not a sparkler like the rest of those Sheheens were.
