Tim Scott On CBS

By FITSNews || With South Carolina receiving so much negative national press lately, it’s nice to see at least one of our politicians presenting a positive image of our state.

In case you missed it, check out this clip of S.C. Rep. Tim Scott – who finished first in last week’s crowded GOP primary for the S.C. first congressional district.  Scott will square off on June 22 in the GOP runoff against Paul Thurmond, son of former U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond.

Earlier this week, Scott appeared on CBS to answer questions about Obamacare and the broader battle to restore free market principles to the American economy – subjects he is uniquely qualified to address given his leadership role on both issues in the S.C. General Assembly.

Along with Mick Mulvaney (who is running against John Spratt in the fifth district) and Jeff Duncan (who is running to replace Gresham Barrett in the third district), Scott is one of the few Republicans in South Carolina who has consistently “walked the walk” when it comes to standing up for market principles.

It’s good to see his star continuing to rise …

Putting a badly worded, worthless, ‘vote-ginning’ referendum on a primary ballot hardly qualifies as leadership on Healthcare.

What are Scott and Mulvanney’s alternative to ‘Obamacare’?

The status quo is a superior alternative to Obamacare. Hell, a free premium membership to WebMD would be a superior alternative to Obamacare.

No crickets- they’re all waiting to see their doctors thanks to Obamacare.

Personally, I wish Katherine Jenerette would have won…. Hair spray and Kevlar makes a good combination. (not at the same time though) I prefer a tea bag in my MRE’s.

Hell snake you’re just horney. Quit mixing tail and votes…oh I forgot we live in SC where tail and votes are inseparable. All this whining about Obama’s health care initiative, c’mon, things up at the VA are still the same. I feel blessed to recieve my treatment there.

Mr. Scott is exactly what SC needs; a true blue conservative that’s black. When it comes down to the brass tacks the Dems have promised the stars and the moon but delivered little to blacks…in fact I suspect it would work against their interests to have more well to do business owning blacks.

The well spoken Mr. Scott might actually become a turning point for the misplaced loyalties of blacks to the Dem party in SC.

OBD, if tail and votes are inseparable in South Carolina, how in the devil did Jakkkie KKKnots get elected. He has man boobs and a fat ass but I’d hardly credit that fat ass he talks out of as “tail”

At least Andre is “cute” if you lean that way…

Strom Thurmond must be spinning in his grave! The mere thought that an African-American has forced a Thurmond into a run-off much less potentially could defeat him would have been unbelievable just a generation ago. No wonder our state and our country have gone down hill in a hurry. Scott will be just another Clyburn or Obama. His supporters like to say he could be South Carolina’s version of JC Watts. Yeah right, and how did that work out for his district?? This is one ole’ Dixiecrat that won’t be supporting Scott in the primary, the general election or ever!!

From what I’ve seen, the folks in the 1st Congressional District will have a first rate candidate whoever wins the runoff. Both Thurmond and Scott seem to be decent, honest, true conservatives. If I lived in the District I’d probably vote for Scott.

Unlike the Scott-Thurmond runoff, the Gowdy-Inglis runoff features candidates with clear differences. I’m hoping Inglis goes down hard.

Tim Scott is gay and should admit to this as we approach significant discussion on gay marriage and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. His sexuality is an issue for many voters.

I’ve met and spoken by phone with Paul Thurmond and seen him “interact” at Charleston County Council meetings. He’s one of the most pompous people I’ve ever seen in politics. BORN with a silver spoon in his mouth. Please, as it is written on Lucky Strike cigarette packs, LSMFT, “Lord, Save Me from Thurmond.”

Not a good guy. Cold heart. Member of the inside elite.

Give me Tim Scott any day.

Fact Checker, obviously you have a problem with reading comprehension. I didn’t say empty platitudes and buzzwords were missing. I said SUBSTANCE was missing. If you think the GOP is going to rook their bread and butter contributors to give up their monopoly, you are quite naive. If they had any intention of doing that they would have when they controlled government.

“Scott is SC’s version of Obama.”

By George, that’s insulting. Apologize to Scott, immediately.
