By FITSNews || S.C. House Majority Leader Kenny Bingham (RINO – Lexington) has withdrawn from the race to replace ousted S.C. Speaker Pro Tempore Harry Cato – a move that signals the increasing vulnerability of House Speaker Bobby Harrell.
Bingham – whose candidacy Harrell was supporting – withdrew from the race Tuesday evening citing “major undercurrents.”
Hmmmm … perhaps he’s referring to this?
Unfortunately, the candidate who appears to have bested Bingham for the No. 2 position in the House – Rep. Jay Lucas (RINO – Florence) – has an even worse fiscal record than Bingham (or Harrell).
Although not by much …
Bingham, Harrell and Lucas all received “F” grades on last year’s S.C. Club for Growth legislative scorecards, with Bingham earning a 34 out of 100, Harrell earning a 27 out of 100 and Lucas earning a 24 out of 100.
Sheesh … is it too much to ask to get a real fiscal conservative in one of these leadership positions?
