By FITSNews || Lexington County (S.C.) Republicans voted overwhelmingly on Thursday in favor of a resolution condemning and censuring S.C. Sen. Jakie Knotts for calling State Rep. Nikki Haley a “raghead” on an internet talk show last week. The resolution also called on Knotts to “resign his office forthwith,” something the rotund RINO says he has no plans to do.
The resolution against Knotts passed the County’s Executive Committee by a vote of 27-6.
Take a look:

WHEREAS Senator Jake Knotts used racial epithets to describe a sitting House member and the President of the United States; and
WHEREAS Senator Jake Knotts’ racial epithets garnered local, state, national, and international press coverage; and
WHEREAS the press coverage of Senator Jake Knotts’ racial epithets has brought shame and disgrace upon himself, his office, and his party;
BE IT RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party condemns the racist statements made by Senator Jake Knotts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party hereby censures Senator Jake Knotts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party calls on Senator Jake Knotts to resign his office forthwith.
RESOLVED this 10th day of June, 2010 at special meeting of the Lexington County, South Carolina Republican Party Executive Committee meeting.
Obviously, we’re all for Knotts resigning … not so much for the “raghead” remark but because he’s been a reliable vote for the state’s RINOcrat legislative tyranny … err, majority for years.
He’s clearly not budging on this, though, and good luck to anybody who tries to make him budge. Literally.
Assuming he continues to survive the short-term storm, Knotts will face off against Lexington GOP Chairwoman Katrina Shealy in 2012 – a rematch of their 2008 fight.

Greenville GOP County Chairman and BJU Puppet Patty Haddon got a delusional streak of self righteousness yesterday….and decided to pre-announce that he was going to the June 28th State Executive meeting demanding Jackie be banished from the State GOP…..Patty the puppet ….holds the largely symbolic post of State First Vice Chair which does little if anything in reality.
As previous Greenville County Chair Sam Harms was removed from office for having the temerity to censure Graham…..the dead pool on Patty starts today.
No doubt the Cola mafia is calling Wendy Nanney and explaining that with the diminishing power in the Upstate……especially with Canto going down in flames….. perhaps she wants to pull her choke chain on little puppett Patty and tell him to STFU on matters that need not concern him.
Jackie not only survives this….. but it helps him in the new battle lines that will be drawn in the Halley\Loftis juggernaut coming down the tracks.

This is funny. What I find really stupid about the GOP’s “resolution” is that practically nobody sitting on that “jury” would hesitate to slander Barack Obama and refer to him as a raghead. In fact I’m guessing that at least 90% of these people are still hollering about the birth certificate and have themselves referred to the President of the United States as a Muslim and/or raghead at least in private conversations.
Ooooo….but let Hot-Crotch Haley get pulled into it, and its an entirely different matter.
Also, if Knotts had made this comment 6 months ago, it would have went un-noticed, but since certain operatives were all about taking Bauer out in the last two weeks of the primary campaign, it became front page news.

I find it odd though that the Lexington Co. GOP will censure Knotts and Senator Graham, but did nothing to the Governor.
And, hmm, Joshua Gross, (San Diegoan) while stopping off here for a stint, drafted the resolution. While it may be needed, could no one that doesn’t work for Haley draft it?

- if your Methodist then does this REALLY offend you directly?
- why not release your emails if you’re clean?
- why haven’t you released your financial disclosures yet? Barrett has, even his tax info. Yet you are campaigning on this and haven’t. Why is this?

As strange and sometimes comical as the South Carolina political races have been this season, this “raghead” piece of it was different. It was nasty in a way that many of us in the South have spent our lives fighting against. Contemptuous racism has been out of vogue for a very long time. I suggest they send Mr. Knotts home to contemplate his arrogance and racism in the privacy of his own pantry – unencumbered by public office.

I think it is hilarious that the tea party supporters who want limited government are using government to suppress freedom of speech. Those bunch of demagogues do not realize that their is a function for government, I am a conservative and believe in limited government on the federal sphere. However, SC has had Sanford vetoing everything for 8 years and were still at the bottom of the list in regards to overall welfare. Its time the government actually does something besides use empty rhetoric on the ignorant to get elected. By the way tea party supporters who hate taxes, the last time we raised income taxes was 50 years ago. I think its about time seeing we have no money, but go ahead and vote against them just because you personally don’t like to pay them.

The political party still has no right to remove an elected official. The government or a political party there is no difference. The principal is still the same if they can remove an elected official based on free speech…what happens in the future? This is a case of a small group of people trying to oust someone that represents a larger group. The Republican party cannot remove him only the people can and if they have any brains they will in the next election.

Libertarian, an example of a Sanford veto is the cigarette tax. Even though it has been overridden by the General Assembly, this tax represents a billion dollar revenue over the next decade according to http://www.scgovernor.com/NR/exeres/AE760F55-FBCD-4176-B748-A629DB7E95CE.htm. I am not one for the government to tell people smoking is bad, but this an excise tax on a luxury. Now what specifically can we do with this money is infrastructure (rebuild roads and bridges) increase public safety and hospital funding, and give incentives for businesses to come into the state by tax benefits which would create jobs while still receiving income from tobacco. All three of these “personal ideas” would increase the welfare of SC by making the state more attractive for future residents and businesses since it would provide better health care (important to note I am not talking about public option health insurance, but better funding for hospitals), safer communities, and a prosperous economy from new jobs. There is a ton of options conservatives can use with increased taxes that does not increase the power of the government. We are lagging behind and we don’t need another “Libertarian” like Sanford, because its clear his policies don’t work. We need limited government, but a government that acts and is capable of providing for its citizens. Cutting spending is important, but that alone can’t fix our economy alone we need revenue which is what tea party supporters, Sanford, and Haley can’t understand.

Actually, Jake Knotts has returned correspondence and helps his constituents. “Round the clock Haley”, “Open Legs Haley”, the “Indian Princess”, “Ms. Transparency” – whatever you want to call her does NOT respond to her constituents. She is going to be carrying her kids around with her in public from this point forward so she cannot get REAL questions about being an adulteress.
This touchy feely society is a sham. I thought this meeting in Lex County was not going to allow comments – if I would have known that, I would have attended the meeting and demanded a rebuke of Sanford and asked for an immediate resignation. I would have requested and demanded that “Round the Clock Haley” be required to release all of her records that have been requested.
If need be, I will move my district to a rental property in Jake’s district just to vote for him in the next election – is he a dufus – yes – but no more than the other clowns mentioned in this note and at least, he has been faithful to his wife.
Keep it up Jake – you have my vote. It is amazing that our media never pressed Sanford until he admitted his affair. I would love to know what Sanford’s boys think of his rendevous in Charleston with his soul mate.

Lexington County DID censure Sanford through the state GOP. Our county was represented by Chairman Rich Bolen at the SC GOP state executive committee meeting that passed the censure. Rich Bolen, at the behest of members of the county party, called for Sanford to resign but his motion to include the request in the censure did not pass.
Since it was a statewide office, it made much more sense to allow the SCGOP state organization to handle the situation. They also jumped on the matter very quickly in that situation, preempting our doing so.
Jake Knotts, on the other hand, only represents (most of) Lexington County–despite the harm he’s done to the entire state. Lexington County GOP has a huge say in the matter whether or not the state GOP takes steps or not.
In addition to the “rag-head” comment, Knotts dropped the f-word several times in his arrogant attack on Obama and Haley on a publicly broadcast forum. If he acts like that in private or with his friends in small groups, that’s one thing. If he acts like that in public–especially on a broadcast program–that’s something else entirely–mainly in practical terms of there simply not being any evidence of what is said in private.
We’re not a police-state imposing thought control and spying on him. However, we are going to speak up if we disagree with his acting like a monster in public.
The resolution also condemned the attack on President Obama. If Joe Wilson (of whom I am not a fan) had used such vulgar language rather than just state easily verifiable fact–despite the inappropriate circumstances for which he apologized–I’m sure he would have been censured by county parties and/or the state organization.
By the way: all the vulgar attacks on Nikki Haley have done exactly WHAT so far?
If you answered: “Given Haley statewide name recognition, drawn attention to her reform agenda where she is standing up to corruption in the General Assembly, resulted in her reaching 49% in the primary, and shown what the opposition to her is like.” Then you were correct.
Please keep up the attacks here and on other threads. You’re just showing how contemptible the character of her opposition is.

Nikki Haley will be:
1) The FIRST NON-CAUCASIAN GOVERNOR of South Carolina.
2) The FIRST FEMALE GOVERNOR of South Carolina
3) The FIRST NON-CAUSASIAN FEMALE GOVERNOR IN THE UNITED STATES.
I repeat, Nikki Haley will be the first non-caucasian female Governor in the United States. Meaning she will make history in a truly dynamic way, and give the lie to the authoritarian left’s absurd propaganda about the whole Tea Party movement being about old racist white men packing heat and stashing bombs in their basements to bring down the government.
Haven’t heard about that from the media in the state, region, nation or world?
Won’t be the first time The Buzzman figured something out way ahead of them … or ferreted out information they were trying to suppress and shouted it through my megaphone.
It’s a gift. Someday before I take leave of the world this side of dirt, I will make it pay, bigtime, and my heirs will profit greatly thereby.
The point is not self-congratulatory hyperbole (though it sure is fun!), but to underscore the fact that Haley is making more history every moment … while Gresham Barrett is muttering and stuttering and sputtering his way to political oblivion.
Wonder if Brad “Tax and Spin” Dean of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and those crony capitalist oligarchs who own him have wondered whether or not the 80 thousand bucks in their “Clearing House” envelope was money well spent?
And WHEN, WHEN, WHEN will Gresham Barrett come back down here to the land of Sun Fun, so we can all thank him personally for whatever the hell he did to earn that money?
And when will some of you supposedly brilliant and enlightened journalists — left, right, in between or above it all — who visit this blog several times a day — grow the balls to take on Barrett and Dean directly for their parts in one of the most heinously socialistic fascistic crony capitalism pay-for-pay cum land-grab schemes in US history.

Sihks may be an ethnic group and not a race, Sandlapper, but is that group not technically a part of a non-caucasian race? Please correct me if I’m wrong about this. If this is correct, however, perhaps Jake’s words were merely and appeal to racially-based suspician and hatred, or just good old-fashined race-baiting.
At any rate, sadly, the Obama administration and or its flacks has taken much of the meaning out of the term “racist” anyway, by applying it to any and all critics of the POTUS, even when the criticism is actually based on policy, ideology or leadership skills.

Boz Martin, Definition of Caucasian: a. Anthropology Of or being a human racial classification distinguished especially by very light to brown skin pigmentation and straight to wavy or curly hair, and including peoples indigenous to Europe, northern Africa, western Asia, and India.
Basically anyone that is not black or oriental. The people of S America were not Caucasian, but they have been mixed so with the Spanish they really are now…but they can be debated either way.
Therefore, Haley is a Caucasian, but in American society we tend to put people in groups due to ignorance of anthropology.
But I agree with you Knotts is trying to pull a she looks like an inferior minority…Which he doesn’t need to do, because their are so many political reasons one could attack her on for not being qualified to be Governor.
