After running up the taxpayer credit card to previously unfathomable excesses (even compared to the fiscal RINOsity of the Bush administration), it appears that the administration of President Barack Obama now wishes to be perceived as fiscally conservative.
Just in time for election season, right?
In fact, Obama’s budget director Peter Orszag has asked federal bureaucracies to identify five percent of their budgets that are currently going toward “less effective” programs so that the President can review them as he prepares his FY 2011-12 budget. Of course in typical Washington fashion, the “savings” achieved by these “cuts” would go toward “more effective” programs.
Sheesh …
Haven’t we heard this song before?
Oh, right … last week, from South Carolina’s biggest Obama fan, Rep. John Spratt.
Again … is this a joke?
These morons (like the Bush morons) have spent us into oblivion … and now, just months before an election, they want us to take their “fiscal restraint” seriously?
Please …

and was it not true that Geo Bush NEVER vetoed a bill sent to him? was it not true that under his watch the GOP Pork Barrel Mania reached a fevered pitch? was it not true that under Geo Bush, Lehman imploded and the country sank into a deep recession—so you dare criticize the POTUS for cutting some spending? what is your point? not a single Republican could have done what he did to save our country from a deep, deep depression, and you have the nerve to criticize the action that had to be taken? What is YOUR plan? where is YOUR birth certificate?

Debt measured as a percentage of GDP is still well within reasonable limits, especially when you’re in a liquidity trap (see Japan). Some countries have had debt at 120% of GDP and done fine. Of course, no one cared about debt when it was a $3 trillion war in Iraq doing the damage, but whatever…
So please, let’s get back to the intellectual level SCGOP is more comfortable occupying: adopted black babies, insane POW’s, inappropriate physical relationships, Applachian trails, ragheads, “stray animals.” Don’t bother with the neocortex– you’ll never win trying to out-reason the opponent. Plus, you’ll stop entertaining us.

Yeah, with a a new unfunded entitlement (Medicare D), the worst economy in 75 years (dredging tex receipts), a systemic debt from tax cuts with no offsets, massive defense spending increases and two wars that were not paid for, it really is a miracle that Obama hasn’t fixed the deficit in a year and half.
Uh huh. And the appropriate place for a lecture on responsibility is fitsnews.

OBamanomics = how to turn a recession into a depression despite spending trillions of dollars.

Ahem…here are a few (only a few) of Obama’s promises from recent past….
“These negotiations will be on C-SPAN, and so the public will be part of the conversation and will see the decisions that are being made.” (Raise your hand if you watched Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieux, Bart Stupak, Chris Dodd, etc get paid for their votes)
“We’ve got a philosophical difference, which we’ve debated repeatedly, and that is that Senator Clinton believes the only way to achieve universal health care is to force everybody to purchase it. And my belief is, the reason that people don’t have it is not because they don’t want it but because they can’t afford it.” (Obama signed the individual mandate into law March 23)
“We need tougher border security, and a renewed focus on busting up gangs and traffickers crossing our border. . . . That begins at home, with comprehensive immigration reform. That means securing our border and passing tough employer enforcement laws.” (In March, the administration halted work on the virtual fence and diverted those funds elsewhere)
“Now, what I’ve done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut.” (Good grief, how funny was THAT?)
So you see, what this president says he’s going to do, as opposed to what he actually DOES, is always two different things. Serious about budget cuts? LOL…I wouldn’t count on it.
“B-B-B-But it’s, it’s all Bush’s fault”!!!!!!

Obama’s first priority is getting himself and his democrat cohorts re-elected. Then I guess maybe it would be basketball, golf and other recreation. Growing the government to provide jobs for his constituents (such as with the stupid census) is definitely a priority. Finally, if he has time, he might actually do something. So far he hasn’t had time. He is going down in history as a worse President than Carter, who was the biggest jackass of a President of the past 50 years. Like someone said – he took a recession and turned it into a depression. And we still have 2 1/2 years of his ineptness left.
