Giuliani Backs McMaster

By FITSNews || Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has endorsed S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster in the race for the Palmetto State’s Republican gubernatorial nomination, news that in any other election would probably be a pretty big deal.

Not this one.

As we’ve said previously, we always like “Hizzoner.”  In fact, we never understood why South Carolina Republicans hated him so much – aside from the fact that he doesn’t speak in tongues while simultaneously handling snakes and trying to bed his sister as he discusses the finer points of barbecue and seersucker.

Speaking of … we’re mustard-based fans … what does that make us?

Says a lot about your taste. Mustard based is just nasty. Now I understand you better.

Sounds like the typical South Carolina Republican 9/11 inside job tactic……

So? He’s still dumb. He called me “dawling” the other day and he’s only known me 39 years or so. It’s DORIS, DUMBASS. Same has it has been through my 3 marriages! Like when Nick Theodore called EVERYONE Buddy.

He managed to endorse McMaster without working 9/11 into the endorsement? Amazing.

So Giuliani, the ultimate insider, has endorsed McMaster, the ultimate insider.

Two cronies scratching each others’ backs.

How is it that after reading this the only thing I can think of is BBQ. I love all kinds…

But being a mustard-base fan makes you a South Carolinian as that sauce came from the large number of Germans who immigrated here about 250 years ago. Particularly it means you’re from the Midlands or Charleston or somewhere in between as it is prevalent along the I-26 corridor starting just above Columbia (the location has something to do with the rivers). Vinegar and pepper is still most common along the coastal plain of SC and NC. Light tomato-base is common in a large swath that includes the Catawba region of SC as well as NC all the way up to the VA border. Heavy tomato-base is prevalent throughout the Southeast (with exception to the aforementioned areas). By far mustard-base is the least common BBQ sauce in terms of area as it is only popular here. But here it’s numero uno. One of the best mustard-bases is at Sweatman’s BBQ near Holly Hill. It’s almost orange and looks like melted cheese but damn it’s good! They’re only open on Fridays and Saturdays though and the place is pretty much in the middle of nowhere… but it makes for a great detour!

Let’s give it up for the Swiss-German South Carolinians and their excellent sause. In addition to the sause, they don’t get nearly enough credit for being among the more level-headed people in our state…crazy Scots-Irish.
