By FITSNews || Republican gubernatorial front-runner Nikki Haley and FITS founding editor Will Folks texted each other nearly 200 times over the past ten months according to records provided by Verizon Wireless – not a particularly high volume of communication when compared to the voluminous phone records that Folks released last week, but enough to raise some eyebrows.
One exchange – initiated by Folks – took place on January 3, 2010 while the blogger was in Birmingham, Alabama attending a college football bowl game. That particular 22-message thread began at 12:03 a.m. and ended at 1:05 a.m. Two nights earlier, Haley texted Folks at 12:22 a.m.
In June 2009, Folks’ wife Katrina (a.k.a. Mrs. Sic) responded to what she described as inappropriate ”emotional exchanges” sent via text message late at night between Folks and Haley by sending her own message to the gubernatorial candidate from her husband’s phone.
“This is Katrina,” Mrs. Sic’s message to Haley read. ”Keep it business only.”
In addition to releasing records of recent texts and phone logs, Folks has also published a series of text messages outlining the days leading up to his May 24 admission of having an ”inappropriate physical relationship” with Haley in the Spring of 2007.
Haley has denied Folks’ claim and said that her extensive night-time phone calls with the blogger – who was her consultant at the time - were professional in nature.
Haley says she has been 100 percent faithful to her husband and that she would resign as governor if any evidence were presented to the contrary.

the line is monday, noon, eastern time. the bet is gop’ers force her hand before tuesday by demanding a poly, which she refuses, and then, in the name of “dirty politics” and “unsubstantiated attacks” on her marriage, and for “the sake of her family” not to have to endure the remaining campaign, she bows out….
By phil tup June 6, 2010 at 12:08 am
and, before the doubters again express complete disbelief in the mounting and continually growing evidence, what these texts clearly demonstrate is that the tow of them had an intimate relationship that went well beyond her continual characterization and denial, previously noted here and elsewhere.
just thought that should be spelled out for you, so you can avoid the whole “where’s the photo?” and “stained blue dress” drivel that ya’all have been claiming is required to “prove” the initial claim.
it’s never been about the sex, kids, it’s been about the bald-faced lies, right to the same people she wants to govern….

Where are the text “messages”?!
“One exchange – initiated by Folks – took place on January 3, 2010 while the blogger was in Birmingham, Alabama attending a college football bowl game. That particular 22-message thread began at 12:03 a.m. and ended at 1:05 a.m. Two nights earlier, Haley texted Folks at 12:22 a.m.”
HAHAHA…
So Haley Folks a “Happy New Year” text message on January 1st 12:22 am (i suspect she sent a collect-sms to all her contacts)
Is this the big deal?
If what i say is wrong, why doesn’t Folks release that particular sms? (He had no issues publishing entire text message exchanges with another person earlier.)
By Charlie June 6, 2010 at 5:35 am
Okay, so you’ve found the texts. You’ve cleared them with your legal team. You’ve laid down the gauntlet to Haley, telling her you have them and giving her the opportunity to fess up to this so you don’t have to release them. I am presuming they don’t make you look all that much of a Southern gentleman. Lots of people will be screaming for you to release your evidence or STFU, as they have been since this began. And you’ve released a lot of evidence. This post won’t make any difference to events because the MSM won’t touch it, and Haley won’t be pressed on it.
Publish a selection of the text messages from Haley to you – the most damaging ones, the ones that show she had feelings for you or was attracted to you. The ones she won’t be able to explain. Call on her to acknowledge the relationship or you will provide the evidence for their veracity.
Do not wait for CNN or anyone else to move on this. You’ve given Nikki Haley plenty of opportunity to come clean and she hasn’t, and won’t. You can put a halt to this by releasing these messages. I would say that the time has now come to do that.
By Graffiti June 6, 2010 at 6:43 am
Will, all I can say is that your wife has the patience of a saint.
You probably don’t deserve her.
Seems like whatever was going on between yourself and NH was not ending easily. Who was the one clinging on?
Anyone who still thinks nothing emotional was occuring between yourself and NH needs their head read.
It never bothers me what consenting adults do in privacy, but liars are pretty hard to stomach. Hypocrites are also particularly unpleasant.
Haley should have steered clear of that dingbat Palin, she is always the ‘Kiss of Death’.
By SnakeMD June 6, 2010 at 6:50 am
Will, I now believe your wife is on this and she needs as much help as you do. This is perhaps the most calculated release of information that I have ever seen before an election. It is now obvious who has paid you off, or should I say “cut you off.” Mrs. Sic definitely has you by the short hairs. Does your wife control your financial future? You go down the tubes and she gets this website if you don’t follow through with this. Just like Brutus Nikki is your Caesar. Twist it deep my friend. You don’t want her coming back to haunt you. Skip your book deal–this is the perfect Sunday night movie for the Harlequin Movie Channel. Its got it all!
I’m not a Nikki supporter and have said so many times here. This Knott’s remark is icing on the cake for this story. Just connect the dots. The whole SC political process is summed up by your actions and inactions. All of you guys are double first cousins, only once removed. My offer for free therapy sessions now extends to the both of you. Like I said before, if I charge you, you will go broke before you get well.

Folks, if you did have an inappropriate relationship with Nikki Haley the fact you were the first to make it public clearly shows you cannot be trusted to maintain confidentiality. So in view of that my question to you is – why should anyone who subscribes to your blog believe you (or the FITS staff) will maintain their privacy?
It would not surprise me to learn you are selling our real names and addresses to anyone who would buy them.
Further, I believe some of your defenders on here are really you, your wife or co-workers.

I am a criminal investigator trained in interview and interrogations. Haley’s response is classic deception. If you notice, her response cuntinues to be that I have been 100% faithful to my husband. She has not said that I have not had sex with anyone else. All this says to me is that her husband knows about her outside sex life and doesn’t have a problem with it. That’s why she keeps saying i’ve been faithful. She’s Lying Clearly….
By Paris Sailin June 6, 2010 at 9:55 am
Whippersnapper, please.
That ridiculous nonsense isn’t original, isn’t witty, and is embarrassing to the rest of her supporters.
Hey, I understand your anger and disappointment as it becomes more and more obvious every day that the candidate you admire(d) and support(ted) all along is an unfaithful liar. I was a Clinton supporter.
If you would acknowledge the obvious and say you still support her and vote for her, I would respect that (although I wouldn’t maybe understand it). Instead, you’re just setting yourself up for ridicule by gulping down the dried mango lassi mix that she’s feeding you.
And the Helen Thomas thing . . . lose it. Seriously, it doesn’t make the “point” you think you are making – it only makes you look worse and more desperate.

Whether Horry County Republicans support Nikki Haley for governor or not, most agree that recent allegations against her are political attacks typical of South Carolina politics.
Allegations aimed at Haley began two weeks ago when Will Folks – a blogger and former spokesperson for Gov. Mark Sanford who has also done work for Haley – claimed to have had an inappropriate sexual relationship with the state representative. Last week, lobbyist Larry Marchant resigned from his position on Andre Bauer’s campaign for governor, claiming he had a one-night stand with Haley several years ago.
Haley addressed the allegations in a stump speech on Saturday to the Myrtle Beach Republican Women’s Elephant Stampede, which brought GOP candidates from numerous state andlocal races to the Peanut Warehouse in Conway.
By Sabree Hill For The Sun News – Nikki Haley signs a campaign poster for Timothy Gardner, of Conway, at the Myrtle Beach Republican Women event at the Horry GOP Elephant Stampede at the Peanut Warehouse in Conway Saturday evening.

“These last few weeks have not been fun,” Haley told the crowd of several hundred. “But when you push the establishment, the establishment pushes back.”
Haley has repeatedly denied the allegations, denouncing them as political maneuvers meant to distract her campaign.
She has ruled out suing the men for defaming her character until after the primary election, she said.
“It would have distracted time and money and energy that needs to be going to the voters now,” Haley said afterward.
“There will be a time and place when we take care of everything but right now we’re focused on June 8.”
Bauer, the only other candidate for governor to address the crowd Saturday, said afterward that when he announced last week that Marchant would leave his campaign, he didn’t know Marchant would then make his allegations public. He also called the scandal a “deplorable” distraction.
“I don’t want to be talking about this anymore because I think we ought to be asking about issues,” Bauer said. “It’s unfortunate the last three days of the campaign we’re not talking about issues and we’re still talking about personal stuff.”
The attacks on Haley are linked to her being a woman, said president Johnnie Bellamy of the Myrtle Beach Republican Women. Voters don’t see male candidates attacking each other the way Haley has been attacked, Bellamy said.
“They have no respect for women or their fellow candidates,” Bellamy said.
The allegations are politics as usual and shouldn’t factor into anyone’s vote, said Bill Knowles of Conway, a supporter of one of Haley’s gubernatorial rivals, U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett.
“I work in county government, so smear tactics aren’t anything new,” said Knowles, who works in the solicitor’s office. “Obviously, someone has an interest in it.”
South Carolina isn’t ready for a female governor – or at least not Nikki Haley, said Laura Best of Gallivants Ferry. Haley’s reputation for fighting in the legislature means she won’t be able to unite the legislature and pass laws, Best said.
“Every committee she’s been on in the house, she’s been removed from because she fights with them,” Best said. “You need to work with the people.”
Haley has said she’s been removed from several committees because of her fight for voting on the record. Haley currently sits on the Education and Public Works committee.
Best said she supports McMaster because he’s been able to pass legislation with relative ease, such as bills to curtail internet predators and scam artists.
Even though Best does not support Haley, she said she agreed that the allegations were politically based.
“It’s like politics as usual,” she said.
Haley’s message has found an increasingly wide audience since her endorsement by former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin several weeks ago propelled her from last in the polls to a wide first – even after the first allegations. On Saturday, a straw poll of Elephant Stampede attendees gave her 132 votes to McMaster’s 53, Barrett’s 49 and Bauer’s 48, said event volunteer Patricia Milley.

That “stuff” is also called “circumstantial evidence.” And Folks has released a buttload of it (so far). Also, there is corroborating like testimony from Marchant.
Not “lesser” evidence, circumstantial. Many felons are sitting behind bars convicted by the preponderance of circumstantial evidence in their case. A credit card receipt, a phone call recorded, evidence of opportunity, consciousness of guilt, lies about material facts, no credible alibi, etc.
But, I think you actually understand all that. You just choose to act like you don’t. I understand, but this point, the rational are done with you and your “clever” nonsense.

Third, it is possible xic(k) willie cooked this up for her benefit. It would not be the first time he has “fallen on his own sword.”

One question for the Haley supporters–how does a log clearly showing repeated and numerous text messaging between Haley and Folks fit into her claim (lie) that she “barely knew him”?
And this one is for the peanut gallery–if Knotts hired the PI who was tailing Folks and it’s Knotts who has that photo of Haley and Folks–then why won’t he release that photo? Is he just enjoying watching Folks go down in flames, another one of his political enemies vanquished? OR is he waiting for the general election to make a deal with the Democratic nominee OR with Haley herself, using the photo as either blackmail or collateral?

Yesterday I asked my neighbor, a democrat, if he was going to vote in Tuesday’s primary, and he said he didn’t have the motivation “with all the nasty stuff going on in the news.” He was talking about Nikki Haley, and he volunteered that she “was getting thrashed by the bloggers and the politicians — all men.”
He said he didn’t believe any of it because there was no proof of it, and that it was a shame. In the end, he decided he would go vote Tuesday, with his wife, in the republican primary, for the sole purpose of supporting Nikki Haley. So much for all this slow leaking of “proof” of her dishonesty.

Again, the rest of us are eagerly anticipating the soon to be fired, “smoking gun” evidence. And it is coming. Deep down you know that it is coming.
As a Democrat, I hope the smoking gun evidence isn’t produced until after Nikki wins the primary (if she is going to do so at this point). But I tend to agree that the party will try to force her out by tomorrow close of business (I guess that could be 4-6am in Nikki’s world) if they have already seen, or are aware of this evidence themselves.

I’m just having a laugh, that’s all. I am pretty sure Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley are Indian at heart, but unfortunately, here in India they are not as popular as one might think they would be. Barack Obama and even Hillary Clinton are condsidreed more “Indian” in India than these Indian Americans who converted to Christianity to further their career. Note: there are many Indian Americans who are Christians and Muslims by birth, and are widely respected in India; what really, “gets” to Idnias, who are largely liberal and not religious zealots(whichever religion they are from) is the ‘conversion’ part.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_American
There was a Indian American congressman in the 1950s America who was a Sikh through out his life.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalip_Singh_Saund
And surprise surprise, he was a Democrat. He beat a GOP candidate in California who a famous aviator (the first female to fly supersonic) …
“A life-long Republican, Cochran, as a result of her involvement in politics and the military, would become close friends with General Dwight Eisenhower. In the early part of 1952, she and her husband helped sponsor a large rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City in support of an Eisenhower presidential candidacy.[13] [14] The rally was documented on film and Cochran personally flew it to France for a special showing at Eisenhower’s headquarters. Her efforts proved a major factor in convincing Eisenhower to run for President of the United States in 1952 and she would play a major role in his successful campaign. Close friends thereafter, Eisenhower frequently visited her and her husband at their California ranch and after leaving office, wrote portions of his memoirs there.
Politically ambitious, she ran for Congress in 1956 from California’s 29th Congressional District as the candidate for the Republican Party. Her name appeared throughout the campaign and on the ballot as Jaqueline Cochran-Odlum. Although she defeated a field of five male opponents to win the Republican nomination, in the general election she lost a close election to Democratic candidate and first Asian-American Congressman, Dalip Singh Saund. Saund won with 54,989 votes (51.5%) to Cochran’s 51,690 votes (48.5%). Her political setback was one of the few failures she ever experienced and she never attempted another run. Those who knew Jacqueline Cochran have said that the loss bothered her for the rest of her life.”

Read that last sentence again.
“Those who knew Jacqueline Cochran have said that the loss bothered her for the rest of her life.”
Hopefully, the same can be said about the uber favorite for the Governor’s race Nikki Haley, when she loses to a Democratic party candidate…

If I read this right, I think that Folks is sending Haley a signal to back down from her denials as gracefully as possible or he will release texts where they are talking about each others’ genitals to save his own reputation.
I think Marchant’s agreement to take a polygraph is similar.
If Nikki Haley didn’t do it, I genuinely feel sorry for her. But the evidence out there supports Will and Larry and doesn’t support Nikki. I also know all of the players involved, some better than others, and based on that I don’t have a lot of confidence in Nikki to be honest about this. And I don’t see the single first motive for Will to lie.
I know everyone will jump on me and say “Will can make money with this through hits and a book” and blah blah. I realize that. But I think Will could have made more money as a fellow traveler in the Haley administration. At the very least, the latter course of action is far, far more certain path to financial success than the former.
If Will doesn’t come out with credibility in this whole thing, his blogging career and political consulting enterprise will basically be over AND he won’t make any money from a book. So I truly cannot imagine Will jumped into this without having conclusive, irrefutable proof of an affair. I expect that if Nikki doesn’t fess up, we will see it. That being said, I’m already satisfied Will’s telling the truth based on the circumstantial evidence already in play and Nikki’s credibility problems and refusal to disclose her evidence.

Sorry, man. I misread your satire. I’ve been playing “hit and run” on here today, and I should have caught that.
I enjoyed your post at 1:35.

People get real!!
If I were texting another woman to all hours of the night, and if I had been in Utah with her, my wife would cut off my balls.
Circumstantial evidence is still real evidence.
Courtroom exchange . . . Lawyer: “Did you actually see my client bite off the victim’s ear?”
Witness: “No.”
Lawyer (asking one question too many): “So how do you know my client bit off the victim’s ear.”
Witness: “I saw him spit it out!”
All you apologists can vote for Haley, but don’t suggest that she didn’t have sex with other men during her marriage.

Turned out like what, exactly? Is everything over? The primary? All of the evidence has been tendered? It’s November?
Last time I looked, nothing had “turned out” yet.
I see this all turning out as a victory for the Democratic nominee. They can take the “high road” on this and deplore the character assassination of Nikki, whether she is “proved” guilty or not, and point legitimately to Sanford and the cesspool that is the state GOP and make good with it.
So, a lot of “turning out” yet to come, my friend.
Hey, anybody in your life that you’d like to slander with false charges? You got phone records, text messages, people you know who’ll testify to like charges, you got that stuff lying around on the specific person you want to nail (so to speak)?
Of course not. The reason Will has these things to support his allegations is because they exist, and they do support his charges, because it’s true. Otherwise, where did these supporting documents and other evidence come from, those phone records showing dozens of late night into early morning calls from her from the time period of the alleged affair?
One has to have blinders on to not see how this is really going to “turn out.”
“Patience, Grasshopper.”

Can’t believe I’m saying this, BUT I am actually starting to believe Will. I agree with what Mike Traynor posted above. It just doesn’t seem like Nikki is being truthful. There goes my vote….now who am I going to vote for??? I probably just won’t vote Tuesday. If I do I may have to bite my lip and vote for Bauer. Don’t get me wrong, I despise much of what Will has done/said on this blog…(going back to the Cole/Anderson saga)…but, he was right about that and he’s probably telling the truth about this. I don’t want another Gov. Sanford national embarrassment for our state.
By Tom Stickler June 6, 2010 at 3:43 pm
Time for Operation Soahc. I think it will be worth my time to vote for Haley and Jenerette on Tuesday so that Sheheen and Burton will have a better chance in November.

That is a generalization. She is not a traditional Indian woman in an arranged marriage. She carries very little of her heritage with her in her current life. She is lying! Deal with it!!

Who? What? When? Where? Who’s strategy is this? What was Willie promised? When did Willie quit his love for NH? Where’s the Beef?
By countryboy June 6, 2010 at 7:53 pm
PPP poll says NH still has a 20 point lead over her nearest competition (Gresham) 43 to 23. Hollings clone is 3rd and Miss Andre(a) is last. Poll also says only 13% believe the charges against her. So all you She-heen supporters that have been posting against her can save it for the runoff with Gresham or the November Haley-She-heen contest.
By Recovering Lobbyist June 6, 2010 at 7:56 pm
Well that proves it. I can’t believe we didn’t believe Will before.

I am calling BS on PPP. Go to their website and look at their clients. Mainly democratics. I think this poll was set up with the outcome already decided. Nice try but you have been caught!

“I am calling BS on PPP. Go to their website and look at their clients. Mainly democratics.”
But then PPP is ranked better than Rasmussen, CNN/OR, CBS/NY TIMES, Hotline/D, IBD/TIPP, Newsweek, Quinnipiac and Fox/OD in that order…

By countryboy June 6, 2010 at 8:49 pm
Say What? PPP isn’t a non-profit organization so regardless of whether they have more Democrat clients they couldn’t stay in business unless their polls were honest and unbiased. Be interesting to see what the final winning percentage is though.
By Paris Sailin June 6, 2010 at 9:20 pm
Yeah, but the tough thing is that 13% who believe she had affairs (at least 2 now, remember?) includes her husband (working late, indeed!).
Again, pass the popcorn. The Gee Oh Pee-baggin’ fools who will make her the nominee are playing right into the hands of the state Democrats.
Pass the popcorn. This is just starting to get interesting. The main reason that her numbers are still so good because the media is still laying low on this story, or taking her side. Wait until the blood hits the water.

I’m thinking that the dripping sound is from falling tears of the bitterly disappointed folks on these boards who have been praying for something other than the reality that is developing.

@Whippersnapper
If the affair of Nikki Haley cannot be proven with 100% certainty for her worshipers, given her outright confession isn’t forthcoming even after further corroborating evidence, you can be assured that in 5 months time a growing chorus of so-con SC voters will be demanding to know whom Nikki Haley prays to before she goes to bed every night (or at least when she isn’t “working her staff hard” all night.) She is doomed either way.

As I have said a number of times on here, I hope(d) that Nikki succeeds in her evasions and stonewalling and kicks the can down past the primary and wins the nomination.
That’s what I’ve been hoping for. Read my posts. So, why would I cry that she’s successful.
There is already plenty out there already that shows she’s a liar (late night work, indeed!), and you know Will would not have brought this up unless he has the smoking gun evidence that none of us have seen yet.
He who drips last, drips best, or something like that.
But, I’m glad that both of us are happy tonight and that we’ll get what we wish for (unless Folks drops the bomb tomorrow, perhaps).
Enjoy it while you can.

The folks jumping for joy about the PPP polling they say shows Spratt is vulnerable are probably like the fellow above now dismissing what the PPP poll has to say about the GOP race.
Sheez.

SO Katrina knew you were texting Haley and that the exchange was “excessively emotional” in June 2009. A year after you got married? And now she knows that you screwed Haley in 2008, before your marriage. And you continued late-night texting at least through January of this year?
Dude, she has you dead to rights for adultry. Inclination and opportunity. I do not believe you stopped screwing Haley when you got married. I feel bad for your wife. I bet when this is all said and done she leaves you high and dry.
By EasleyJack June 7, 2010 at 8:55 am
Hope you “folks” like Vincent Sheheen.. that is where all this is headed if she is the Republican candidate.

Last day for people to really think about this. There is proof that she not only had inappropriate behavior with at least 2 men, but she is lying about it. I will not vote for anyone who uses her family in such an evil way. Plus she is conning those who are sticking with her. I am so tired of this, and sad that people refuse to believe who she really is. Read some of the articles in the upstate. People who knew her at Clemson are talking about her behavior then. I know: not married then, but gives you idea of how sexually active she was/is.

1)Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t run for governor with skeletons in their closet.
2)Anyone that’s good looking wouldn’t fool around with an ugly person.
3)Nikki’s got my vote.
4)The other gubernatorial cabdidates are worse than this crap.
By Barney Fife June 7, 2010 at 11:26 am
I think this will drag on until the run-off. Once the run-off is underway, we will find proof. NH will get slaughtered.
I still do not know what anyone’s motivation is to lie about sleeping with NH. It makes no sense.
Therefore, I have to assume it is true.
By fdk June 7, 2010 at 11:41 am
@cfd007
“1)Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t run for governor with skeletons in their closet.”
Two words: John Edwards.
“2)Anyone that’s good looking wouldn’t fool around with an ugly person.”
Anyone who is born and raised in a well-off Indian family doesn’t convert to Christianity, unless maybe if you have your young ambitious eyes set on a career in public life in a southern conservative/republican state. It shouldn’t surprise you then that one would be willing to sleep with “ugly” political consultants to that end.
“3)Nikki’s got my vote.
4)The other gubernatorial cabdidates are worse than this crap.”
Right. Nice to know that you clearly want to stick to Nikki even if the charges against her turn out to be true. Don’t bother justifying your true belief with your first two points.
