Loftis Versus Chellis: It’s On!

rock em sock em

By FITSNews || Forget Haley v. Folks, the most acrimonious (and personal) battle in Palmetto state politics this year has been the race between “incumbent” State Treasurer Converse Chellis and challenger Curtis Loftis.

Seriously … what other race can you think of (for now, at least) in which the “herpes” card has been played?

Exactly …

Anyway, with polls showing a tight race Chellis and Loftis will battle it out mano a mano Tuesday afternoon on a Midlands radio station.  Given the intensely personal nature of some of the attacks in this race,  we’d advise you not to miss it.

The debate will be aired live on WVOC AM at 3:00 p.m., with the station’s website providing streaming audio.

Seriously? Now you’re going to try a deflection strategy? What a pussy! You promised the entire world proof of an affair, then you slowly leak out information from which enuendo can be made, and finally on the day you promised to release the most damaging of your proof, you crawfish. Just like a immature little girl . . . a simple tease and a worthless one at that.

The Nelsen campaign has brought to the public’s attention that Zais is working with Chellis on statewide advertising. How was Mark Chellis appointed by the Gubernor? This is supposed to be an Generally Appointed poll, of the SC Citizens.

What did the government do wrong, in “Appointing” a criminal to void this fill?

PS…he is lying about the Bank of America stuff. He decided to do that cuse Malryck suggested it, and they thought no one would notice!

Visited the web site of Chellis for the first time yesterday and viewed a photograph of the man smiling.

This is highly unusual as I have never in my life seen the man smile.

Chellis is totally humorless, depressing, and “looks” the bell-boy role he plays at the Budget & Control Board:

    “Here, Chellis, fetch.”

    “That’s a good boy, Chellis.”

    “Good boy.”

“Now, go vote for this [Leatherman fills in the blank].”

    “That’s a good boy, Chellis.”

    “Here, have a dog biscuit.”

    “GOOD BOY, Chellis.”

After listening to Converse Chilles defend his calendar I decided to view it for myself. I don’t know many executives who do not denote on their calendars basic office meetings with staff or have so many blank calendar pages.

But then I checked out December 25, 2009 and saw that Mr. Chilles held a meeting of his advisory council at noon. I am a family man as well as a business man and if I held a business meeting on Christmas Day my wife would kill me and my employees would walk. From the many empty pages in the calendar his Christmas business meeting was one of the few Friday’s where the man actually worked. http://www.curtisloftis.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/December2009.pdf

There is no way yall listened to the same debate that I did. Chellis actually was able to ANSWER the questions… All Loftass did was talk philosophy, tahoes, and calendars… the same BS he has been whining about for months. He failed to answer ONE question w/ an actual answer. This guy brings nothing to the table. Dont like Chellis, fine, but dont elect somebody incompetent to replace him. At least find a worthy opponent. Lofass is a JOKE. It is painfully obvious that he would be the most clueless state official ever elected. He has absolutely NO financial training and it shows everytime he opens his mouth.

My father was a plumber and I am the product of a blue collar working class family. My father worked hard, put food on the table, and sent each one of his children to college. As a plumber’s son I was offended when Converse Chellis made fun of a good man who owns a exterminating company. If the high and mighty thinks so little of a successful businessman who has made millions and employs over 45 hard working people then our state is in more trouble then I believed. Yes Loftis owns an exterminating business, but there is nothing wrong with that. Converse Chellis is a snob who is sucking at the government tit and belittles those he believes to be inferior. If all incumbents think like Chellis lets clean house.

The Chellis campaign has started a rumor that Loftis has a criminal record. Loftis carries in his pocket a SLED chrck that shows a clear criminal background. I saw it today at First Tuesday GOP Lunch Club.

Chellis is desperate and will say anything possible. Next, Chellis will be saying that Loftis in eating puppies for lunch.Or maybe babies.

If we need a CPA in this job, we need one who knows the difference between a CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) and an Audit. He said yesterday that the audit was contained in the CAFR, backtracking form previous comments, see video, Converse Chelis Unplugged on this blog.

There can be no doubt that the Chellis campaign is the nastiest campaign run in recent memory. It has waged a vicious whisper campaign, cracked into a sealed divorce case and published Loftis’ crazy ex-wife’s rants.
Chellis’ desperation is apparent as his poll numbers are in the crapper. No one with good poll numbers runs negative attacks ads like the one Chellis is running unless they are headed for defeat and are throwing the Hail Mary. The personal attacks that are 20 years old are a cowardly act and Chellis should be ashamed.
Loftis better brace himself because the Wilkins/Dawson/ Chellis team has super negative super misleading mail on the way to a box near you. It is disgraceful, but it is the way the good old boys stay in power.

The $60 million isnt/wasnt/never was LOST! I wish you people would quit talking about something if you dont know the facts! This is PURE SPIN from the Loftass campaign. Even Richard Eckstrom (Comptroller General) has been quoted as saying the Treasurer’s Office had nothing to do w/ this (Look it up online, this is not a lie)… and he has absolutely NOTHING TO GAIN by putting a dog in this fight. Eckstrom, unlike most of you, simply knows the facts. Additionally, Loftass DOES have a reputation for being ill tempered (not a good quality for someone trying to make rational decisions w/ $60 BILLION). The fact is that he WAS IN FACT ARRESTED IN 1990 FOR ASSAULTING HIS WIFE and this is purely an example of the man’s chararcter. SLED reports dont show arrests, so he can tote around his SLED report all he wants… might as well be carrying his elementary school report card.

Also, Mr. Plumber, I think we all respect you for your business. Chellis is not saying that small business owners of “blue collar” businesses are any more/less important than anyone else… what he is saying is that he doesnt know any-more about being an exterminator than Loftass does being a Treasurer. I think if this were a contest to see who could run the best small business then Loftass would have a case. Problem is, $60 Billion of taxpayer’s money is NOT SMALL BUSINESS. It is complicated financial management that requires more financial background than balancing payroll every 2 weeks.
