Haley released a statement Monday morning “categorically” denying the allegation, saying that she had been “100% faithful” to her husband, Michael, throughout their 13 years of marriage.

“I have been 100% faithful to my husband throughout our 13 years of marriage. This claim against me is categorically and totally false.”
“It is sad, but not surprising, that this disgraceful smear has taken form less than a week removed from the release of a poll showing our campaign with a significant lead. It is quite simply South Carolina politics at its worst.”
“These attacks – and those sure to follow – are an effort at distraction, but I will keep my focus on what matters, and that is delivering South Carolina’s government back to our people. That’s a fight I have fought for the last five years. That’s why I entered this race for Governor. And that’s what I will continue to do, despite any outrageous and false claims that are thrown at me.”

This is so sad….I hope their families come out OK. Halley would be better off by simply admitting it and closing off outside communications so she can deal with it with her family. She’s probably gonna “deny, deny, deny” until the proof comes out-I’m sure the emotional pain she is in is immense.
I can’t conceive of any possible reason for Will Folks to lie about this…especially if there is “evidence” floating around..
Even if you thought the worst of the man and said “he’s doing it for the publicity” or “he’s an attention whore” I’d think the price for such behavior would be too high. If it’s true his wife(and the world) knows he slept with a married women- if it’s false he’ll be excoriated beyond comprehension and lose all credibility from the time it’s proven false to “forever”…meaning no more career in “news”.
Either way I can’t imagine lying would be worth the costs….

All Will did was come forward BEFORE others did to try to protect his family and to get in front of the story JUST LIKE ANY GOOD PRESS/PR person would suggest.

I believe the woman’s heritage is “American,” which is how I responded to the recent U.S. Census.
ALL Americans are immigrants. My family came off the boat in 1842 from what is now called Poland. We are Jews.
I have a friend who became a U.S. citizen in 2008. He came from India. He is Hindu.
Please tell us all what is your “heritage,” what nationality you “look,” whether you are “Chrsitian” (your spelling), your definition of “Chrsitian” and why it should matter to anyone in any political contest.

Oh, give me a break. Clearly, Mr. Folks, does not benefit from making this up. It is almost certainly true. That means Ms. Haley, has no business being Governor, because she has no common sense, cannot be trusted, and is likely to become an embarrassment to the state when the proof does come out.
It also means this site can no longer be trusted as the founder participated in the event and then covered it up until he was forced to come out by someone else. In short he was willing to let the people of this state and the Republican party suffer because of his indiscretions.

The characterization of this as an unsolicited claim of hooking-up with Haley seems unjustified. It’s pretty clear that this was a breaking story and Folks just got out in front of it.
Maybe it would have been best to sit on it and wait, but if the story is there, it’s there.

Haley and Barrett has now lost the chance of getting my vote. I am very disappt. to see that more of the same of what we already have is in the running to take over our Govt. SC needs a break and a breath of fresh air. In the last years- SC has made headlines in the worst way- mostly b/c of our elected officals.

I am shocked at how many people are willing to believe Folks, without any evidence to support his claim. Not only that, but Folks only said he had an “inappropriate physical relationship”; what does that mean? For all we know, that could mean he tried to kiss Haley and she slapped him. Folks never even said there was a consensual sexual relationship, but everyone is jumping to conclusions prematurely. To me it is obvious this is just to distract attention from the real issues in the campaign and Haley’s qualifications. There is no evidence Folks was coerced into any of his daily drip of rumor and innuendo. This is clearly politically motivated and timed to hurt Haley. Folks lied when he said he would have nothing else to say about this.

Well…it seems to me that what goes around comes around. It appears likely that the two of you made really dumb choices and if so, the two of you should share in the fallout. If you consume one another on the way down and hopefully out, then I can only be glad that the timing has saved our state from you both. Maybe the poetic justice will be that South Carolina will get a break from the “high and mightier than thou” far right. What we don’t need for sure are people with your lack of integrity and inability to make good decisions. People in SC need to wake up and just say no to the koolaid. And Sarah Palin can take her half term lack of experience and save it for the zombies over at Fox… South Carolina doesn’t need help like hers. If SC ever elects a female govenor, I pray, (yes even us moderates pray) it won’t be someone of her ilk, but a real leader…you know the kind that knows how to govern and accomplish goals, not just get paid to run her mouth and tell everyone what they should think.
