By FITSNews || College in the mid-1990s was pretty much a blur for us, but we do remember the first time we heard Monster Magnet, one of the most underrated heavy metal acts of all-time.
Based out of New Jersey, Monster Magnet was a part of the glory years of Caroline records (the label that released Gish, the first Smashing Pumpkins album). This is their Magnum opus, “Negasonic Teenage Warhead” off the Dopes to Infinity album (1995).

Nice. I was listening to Monster Magnet’s Spine of God disc yesterday. Solid band. Superjudge was the shit. Dopes to Infinity ain’t bad either.
But once the dude got off drugs, MM went downhill. Another rock n roll drug casualty.
The lesson: Unless you’re John Frusciante stay on drugs. Your fans will thank you for it.

So, I suppose this means that sex and rewarmed pizza weren’t a functional model for the future? I could write a pretty good college essay on this one, but in the end, isn’t it all about a nineteen year old’s sense of alienation when they can’t get laid?
