Obama: Happy Days Are Here Again

obama happy days

By FITSNews || U.S. President Barack Obama trumpeted his administration’s economic record on Thursday, taking credit for stopping an “economic free-fall” and putting the American economy on a path to recovery.

“We can say beyond a shadow of a doubt today we are headed in the right direction,” Obama said during a speech in Buffalo, New York. “All those tough steps we took, they’re working, despite all the naysayers who were predicting failure a year ago.”

Wait … is this guy for real?

After trillions of dollars in taxpayer-funded bailouts, deficit spending, speculative investment and money-printing (under two administrations), absolutely nothing has been done to address the root problems that got us into this mess in the first place.  Additionally, unemployment is up, we haven’t seen the bottom of the housing market’s collapse and there’s another major credit crisis brewing on the “other side of the pond.”

Bottom line? The fundamentals simply aren’t there.

We’ve borrowed, spent, lent and printed money on an unprecedented scale, and for what?  All we’ve gotten in return is economic “growth” that is largely the result of inflation – on essential items at that.

But hey … we’re just “naysayers,” right?

Yep, there is more than a little truth in your naysayer declaration. I think things are are hell of a lot better than 15 months ago.

    Susan,

If things aren’t better after $13 trillion being spent, lent or pledged, then something is really wrong.

You miss our point … none of that borrowed money has done anything to change the fundamental problem.

One question….where were all the naysayers during the 8 year disaster Bush term who 3/4 of the wealth increase of the country went to 1/4 of the country (the most wealthy)? Where were you when he was funding Medicaid part D….which cost billions? I’m sorry but Obama’s spending isn’t great but let’s get real people, he was handed a sack of sh*t! Until both parties realize this and actually come to terms with it, and until americans on the far right and far left stop pointing fingers and start researching facts we will be in the same old situation we have been in for years…nowhere. I suggest we the peopel take a couple economic courses to learn about our financial system and our government practices without relying on and listening to idiots reporting the news “their” way. Where has our common decency gone, and our respect for our country and our president? No matter if we like him or not our tone needs to change!!!! It is so funny….for 8 years Bush destroyed our country to the ground (yes republicans need to admit it) and saved face and didnt point fingers…..a democrat comes in and all anyone can do is point fingers. Maybe we all need to look at ourselves and get an education and start making real decisions in our own homes and getting better educated to change what we dont like……..the teabaggers arent much better either. There are so many of us out there that dont feel like they belong to republicans, democrats, independents, or the tea bagger party………

The problems our nation are experiencing happened long before Obama. Not to give him a pass, but he can’t undo bad policy in two years people. No one can.
At least we haven’t slipped further into the murky pit, … yet.
There is still time….. elections are coming up.

Suggestion* vote out all incumbants * resist playing ” musical chairs”.

The master-teleprompter reader says (with nifty reverb):
“We can say beyond a shadow of a doubt today we are headed in the right direction”

    The FACTS:

Unemployment rate when DEMOCRATS gained control of Congress = 4.6%
Unemployment rate after only 3 years of DEMOCRAT control = 9.9%

all depends on the definition of the term “right direction”…

Good riddance to hundreds of these DEMOCRAT morons on November 2, 2010.

Almost one and a half years of a black, Democratic President: a frakkin’ bitchfest.

This suggests the president is happy. However, all over the news tonight is the president’s “anger” concerning the oil spill in the gulf. The facts:
    1. His administration was uninvolved and not interested in this until day 4 of the spill.

    2. The spill was probably just a distraction from the president, and he does not appreciate that.

    3. Our “oil colored” preseident is fast to blame and complain to BP but slow on response and action. Her should take his a_s down there and stop the oil himself if he is so mighty! If he can’t put up, he should shut up!

The president has managed to set this country back far beyond that which could ever be attributed to Bush. Look at the wasteful spending so far! My bet, he packs his bags after this term. Back to Chicago for he, Michelle, the kids, the mother-in-law, ect. Hopefully Aunt Zutubie will also be deported as well!

What is the fundamental problem then, FITS? More qualified ratings people at Goldman and Sachs and S&P? Cause 15 months ago, we were looking a 70 year depression in the face – a near collapse of our financial system. I think you might want to temper your points with a glass of realism.

I just got a $100K grant for my school (in SC) that is funded by the stimulus and will go back into research and education in this state. So on a personal level, I am experiencing the reverse of everything you say.

I’m not trying to be a jerk; I just don’t agree with your points.
