By FITSNews || Because we get forwarded literally everything that has anything to do with S.C. politics, it’s not surprising that the poetry of S.C. Sen. Robert Ford (D-Charleston) would eventually make its way across our desk.
Poetry, you say?
Why, yes …
Apparently Ford – one of three remaining candidates for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination – composed a poem for Mother’s Day which he proceeded to mail out to God knows how many people from his Senate office.
Here it is:
It Is So Woman
By Robert Ford
It is so wonderful
To be blessed with radiant beauty
A genius mind,
To be a winner that welcomes
Success with an unshakable faith
That battle all the odds,
To know your place in the world
And be in touch with who you are
To be an ambassador to love
With an unlimited talent,
To possess strong nurturing powers,
Sharing joy and peace to all,
To be a compliment to your
male counterpart, family and
friends, giving support
and understanding as needed
It is so wonderful
to be a woman.
Ummm … a “compliment to your male counterpart?”
Swoon, baby. Swoon.
By all means, talk amongst yourselves …

What a peckerhead.

I thought people who suffered for civil rights didn’t use terms like “know your place in the world”.

Words like counterpart, your place in the world. Hip lingo for somebody on the pimp to. I wonder if he sold these to everyone at the players ball. But look at the card and that subtle imagery all the white kids at the back of the bus…just saying but I have a black heli flying over my house and my tinfoil hat just fell off.

Less than 10 percent of primary vote for him.

I get complimented on my “male counterpart” on a regular basis.
If I got one of these in the mail, I’d be pissed. Maybe he was working on them when he should have been in attendance at the Senate Judiciary sub-committee hearing on 5/5? What a homo.

My wife recieved one of those and the literature that came with it appears to me to be racist.

As an award winning poet (I won an autographed copy of Bob Denver’s autobiography back in 1999 in the Maynard’s Coffeehouse–http://www.bobdenver.com/Maynard_s_CoffeeHouse/maynard_s_coffeehouse.html–”Really Bad Poetry” contest with my poem, “True Maynard”) I must say that Robert Ford’s poetry really stinks.
I should know.

Ya gotta submit your “winning” entry, WTC. Full disclosure!

I see by that flag he is wearing on his lapel, that he is an ardent supporter of his own country. I thought you had to be an American citizen to be elected in this state? Silly me, he wears that to help him match his socks to the right color. Certainly he’s not colorblind… is he?
