Open Thread: Today’s Tuneage

By FITSNews || We’ve been getting plenty of comments on our “Today’s Tuneage” section recently, which is interesting because until this week there wasn’t even a dedicated place on the website for people to offer their feedback on the music we play.

Well, there is now (see comments section below).

“Today’s Tuneage” is LL Cool J’s 1991 comeback hit “Mama Said Knock You Out …” except that (as you’ll hear) we’re not supposed to call it a “comeback.”

This song won the 1992 Grammy Award for “Best Rap Solo Performance,” and yes, that’s LL’s grandmother in the video.

She was the inspiration for the title after she told her grandson to “knock out” his critics.

In Mande’s absence, the tuneage seems to have a different tone.

Say…where’s Mande? We MUST compare notes some day…

Fits, do us a favor, go have ‘em somewhere else. ;-p

Sheeze, and somehow I thought for sure you and I would have a little commonality when it came to “tuneage”.
