By FITSNews || Having been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing by S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster last week, Gov. Mark Sanford reportedly celebrated the formal end of the Maria Belen Chapur scandal by escaping to the Florida Keys for a romantic Mother’s Day weekend with … you guessed it … Maria Belen Chapur.
In fact, several sources reported seeing Sanford and his “soul mate” at the pricey Cheeca Lodge and Spa in Islamorada, a resort which is said to be frequented by former President George H.W. Bush.

Now let me see if I have this straight, LuvGov went through a legal seperation and was recently granted a divorce, that his wife requested and that he did not contest. Now he is seen in the company of a woman and there are folks who still want to bust his balls? What did you expect him to do join a monastary?? By this time next year,Sanford will be a former Governor, hopefully on the way to a happy life out of politics with a woman that he adores and adores him. Leave him alone and let him finish out the remainder of his time in office. We have far more important issues and problems facing us than Sanford’s dating schedule. For all that he is now an officially a free agent and Jenny is trying her best to move on, he is still an untrustworthy, despicable weasel. He has pretty much maneuvered all around him (former wife, children, coworkers, and constituents)to achieve his own interests. One can only assume that Belen is of a similar bent that can she can stomach his company. “Do unto others…” is apparently not in their vernacular.

Oh dear, all I can do is laugh. In all seriousness…none of my business who he dates, etc. What is my business is my state, South Carolina. I think at minimum he should have received a very serious reprimand (not just the fine he had to pay) for leaving our state in a lurch. People downplay this all the time….deflecting the real issue….he left our state unattended and then lied about where he was, and some of the funds he used was our tax payer money.

Mark Sanford have been ‘clandestinely’ meeting Maria Belen Chapur in the last two moths. It is said the sex crossed lovers met in New York City and had a romantic tryst during Mark Sanford’s speaking engagement for Yale University’s Political Union in New Haven, CT last month.
Expect the two to come out publicly with their continuing and developing relationship in the next few weeks. Do not be surprised in Maria Belen Chapur shows up in Columbia and takes over First Lady duties in Mark Sanford’s last few months in office and then officially assume the role of ‘wife’ shortly before or after Sanford’s Governor term is over.
So imagine with this lead of a Florida sighting of Sanford and Chapur, the paparazzis are on hot trial for the prized first snap shots?

Tyrone, interesting comments. It seems plausible for Sanford to “duck the press” in New York City. Hell, even the Times Square Bomber did that, but he caused suspicion of another, really bad, sort.
Ever see the “subway scene” in “The French Connection” where “the Frog” [French bad guy] escapes from Gene Hackman [good guy detective] in the NYC subway? That scene goes on for a good five minutes. I think Mark is now something of a subway fugitive like “the Frog.”

Let be people! Jenny has a boyfriend and if Mark wants to continue the relationship that ruined his marriage, his family and his political future – get over it. He is a lame duck Governor who would not have been able to do anything in his last year of office even without the scandel. Don’t we have any dirt on anyone that will still be in the public eye a year from now. This is old news.

I really do not care who he dates. I care that he is still our governor. He continues to do little for the state, and a lot for himself. We should expect more, demand more, and deserve more in our leadership. This guy’s bedroom pecadillos were just the tip of the iceberg of the mental pathologies that led to the breakdown in his ethics and the abandonment of his office and the people of SC. Here is another man who places his own ego ahead of the all important role of husband and father, which by the way he entered into on his own–nobody forced him to get married and father children. However, his wife and his sons ALL had to endure the embarrassment of having their husband and father’s sordid story all over the news. And yet I’m quite sure that this is an acceptable trade-off to him, if it means he can end up with his soul-mate. He is a sad little man, unable to live up to the task of being a faithful husband, and a father who sets examples for his sons of how they should conduct themselves. He deserves nothing but contempt.
