It’s A Bad Time To Be A Donkey

By FITSNews || Democrats are less popular today than at any point in the last two decades, new polling from Gallup indicates.

After reaching as high as 55 percent during the 2008 elections, Democrats’ favorable ratings have plunged all the way down to 41 percent.  Meanwhile, Republicans have picked up some ground – as their favorable ratings have climbed from 34 percent last year to 42 percent today.

“The images of the two major parties have particular significance in a midterm election year,” Gallup’s pollsters note. “For example, the favorable rating of the Democratic Party exceeded that of the Republican Party by 52% to 37% just prior to the 2006 midterm elections, in which the Democrats gained 31 House seats.”

Of particular interest is the steady decline of Democratic support seen among independent voters.

Last May, 47 percent of independents viewed the Democratic party favorably, compared to just 30 percent today.

When ya treat the Constitution like toilet paper and the American people like pre-schoolers, it’s no wonder the Democrats find themselves on thin ice.

I just wish that there were some decent GOP candidates to vote for. I still feel like I am picking between bad and worse.

Yeah, the Democrats ought to really be sweating it. They are a whopping 1 point below the GOP in favorability.

Other surveys show a different story too…

A new Public Policy Polling survey finds that just 28% of voters across the country say they approve of the current direction of the Republican Party with 51% disapproving.

Among voters who identify with the party, just 54% say they like where it’s headed.

A new CNN/Opinion Research poll shows Democrats actually retaking the lead over Republicans in the generic congressional ballot by four points, 50% to 46%.

Two weeks ago, the same survey found Republicans leading by four points.

The latest Gallup poll shows Republicans slightly ahead of Democrats in the generic congressional ballot among registered voters, 48% to 44%.

Take your pick folks. All it really means is the public is fickle, and public opinion changes more often than the weather.

2010 will be a GOP year, but it remains to be seen if their pickups will be beyond the out-of-the-White-House, midterm norm.

I agree with “By really????”. As a life-long Lexington County Republican (you know the only county to vote Republican for decades before the RINOS?) I am **VERY** dissatisfied with the candidates for many offices. I really liked Ted Pitts but its deeply pains me to see Rick Quinn come in and run for yet another office (political whore?). Jake Knotts makes me want to vomit. If our current slate of “Republican” office-holders aren’t bad enough we now have their children to deal with.

Or you can look at today’s CNN poll which shows something different:

Then again, it is the “Communist News Network.”

I love elephants, but not anywhere near my political ideals. I don’t care if I am the last Dem. on earth, you can not intimidate or scare or fool me with the crazy psycho talk the right wing spits out. Remember what a mess Bush got us into. Let the party of No take over, and then tell me if your life is better. I can not believe lying and carrying guns has gotten so much attention, but, oh, I forgot, some people just can not hide their lack of tolerance.

Just goes to show, it doesn’t take much to influence the stupid people, and most Americans are stupid. Just mix a little drama and fear and call it news, throw in an American flag and tell people you’re protecting their freedom; at that point the fucking idiots of the US will step in line and follow whatever you say, mainly because they’re too stupid to understand the details of the world around them unless they come in 4 second sound bites.

The Evil leading the Stupid… Yep that pretty much sums up the Republican Party

I have been a Democrat all my life. I cannot bring myself to vote for another Democrat with what has been going on in Washington. I cannot vote for the party of Palin and Limbaugh, either. I simply will not vote until I have someone I can vote FOR.

If the Republican Party is summed up by “Evil Leading the Stupid”
Please explain why people with higher social class and income(both factors linked with higher intelligence) are Republicans.
Democrats want help with everything, they want it all handed to them which is exactly why Obama was elected. Now look where we are.
People associate the Republican Party with redneck illiterate morons when in reality, its a ideology centered on good morals and tradition in which our country was founded. What is so wrong about that? I believe in change and have liberal opinions on some issues (I’ll admit few) but all the same some.
Democrats should stop pointing the blame and help themselves. Republicans believe that by the power and ingenuity of an individual, success can be achieved through hardwork and discipline. Do you truly think Americans are incapable of helping themselves? Do you truly feel it is the people who have worked their whole life that should pay for people that have not?
As for the canidates, I did not like either in the 2008 Election, however, the better of the worse clearly was not elected.

Liberals tend to care about and do something about the problems of others. There are people who want to work, but for some reason can not find work, or are sick and not allowed to work or are homeless…..please do not pretend that all people who are not working are lazy bums. Some might be. Some working people are also worthless bums. republicans are in it for themselves. They tend to be less tolerant and think ” I got mine, you go get yours”. Well, I share as much as I can. It is only the right thing to do. All that other talk is code for intolerance.
