Harrell Endorses Scott In SC-1

By FITSNews || Already a favorite of fiscal conservatives, S.C. Rep. Tim Scott received an endorsement from the other end of the GOP spectrum on Tuesday when S.C. House Speaker Bobby Harrell (RINO-Charleston) waded into a crowded GOP First Congressional District race to endorse Scott.

“The federal government is growing out of control, and Tim Scott is exactly the kind of solid, conservative leader we can trust to fix it,” Harrell said in his release. “I’m proud to publicly endorse Tim Scott for Congress, just as I am confident he will make all South Carolinians proud in the years ahead.”

Obviously, we’re among the most vocal of the Speaker’s critics but he did miraculously manage to steer clear of several RINOs – most notably Carroll A. “Tumpy” Campbell III – and wind up endorsing one of our two favorites (Katherine Jenerette being the other) in this race.

And as much as we’d like to view Harrell’s endorsement as a giant red flag, Scott’s record as a fiscal conservative is what it is – one reason he’s received props from the S.C. Association of Taxpayers as well as an endorsement from the Club for Growth.

Scott is one of nine Republicans running for the seat being vacated next year by U.S. Rep. Henry Brown (RINO-Hanahan).

Two democrats and an independent are also running.

Will why are those two your favorites? Although I like Tim, I am much more impressed with Glasson, Kobrovsky and Lutz. These people are actually true constitutionalist conservatives.

Fits: This may not be directly related to the story above, although I am embarassed by your sometimes attacks on truly excellent black judges and other officials in what appears to me to be racism. Well, Tandy Carter happens to be black AND CORRUPT and incompetent. It is a mark of true non-racism to not have what W called “the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.” Having said that, this comment was posted early this morning on the The State web-site and received 14 recommendations and two quotations. Within hours, it was hidden. I hope YOU have the journalistic integrity and concern for public safety to run in here. Here it goes:
Chief Carter is putting fire-red lipstick on the pig that is his administration of Columbia’s Police Department, “CPD.” This corrupt man had ME arrested on false harassment charges for having tried to alert CPD to suspected prostitution in my neighborhood. I represented myself in a five-day jury trial which ended in my NOT being convicted. I called Carter as a hostile witness. Under oath, he admitted having held an unusual “round table” basically to put the fix in against me before arresting me but he denied even knowing about a media-reported incident. In that incident around October 2009, a CPD officer let go a solicitor of an alleged under-age prostitute because the officer’s wife was then the solicitor’s secretary. That solicitor resigned the next day from his job as a top lawyer in South Carolina’s Attorney General’s Office. Carter and Deputy Fifth Circuit Solicitor Meadors sit back, let the county sheriffs do the work, then rush to the photo-op. Carter must resign or be fired and Meadors should abandon his bid for Solicitor. Meadors while sober has no more ethical control on the Solicitor’s office than Giese while drunk. Ask Meadors and Carter what they did to me after I provided their offices with photos of a man (probably a client of a suspected prostitute in my neigborhood) grabbing his crotch then standing “turgid” in my parking lot. They had ME arrested under false charges that my photographing suspicious people caused those people “emotional discomfort.”

No surprise here. Both Harrell and Scott are in the insurance industry, so Scott’s election will help both of them in the long run. I do think Tim Scott’s sexuality will become an issue before all is said and done. Does anybody else think Tim Scott looks like Tyler Perry in the Madea movies?

Two phonies… Harrell and Scott! How does a guy like Tim Scott talk about conservative values when he’s not married, never has been and has no children that he claims. I just don’t get it other than Slic Willie likes the guy (and his money) but Will’s married.
You gotta like Tim… sits on council for a while, runs for state senate, tries to be Treasurer, get’s elected to the House, talked into running for Sect. of Education, opts for Lt. Guv and ends up in a congressional race and now is being courted to run against Sen. Graham. Will the real Tim Scott please stand up!

Is being married and having a kid a prerequisite for being a conservative? If people are talking about Scott running against Graham at some later point should it have anything to do with the current congressional campaign? Is having an actual conservative run against Graham a bad thing? Does PalmettoWatchDog have a clue? Answer: NO to all of the above.

“The federal government is growing out of control, and Tim Scott is exactly the kind of solid, conservative leader we can trust to fix it,” Harrell said in his release”

Obviously these two realize that the state government is also “growing out of control” thanks in large part to the rino big spending ways of Speaker Harrell. Since these two are such “bosom buddies”, can we expect Harrell to have excessive influence over the policy decisions of Scott. If so we could have probably left “the workhorse” Rino Henry Brown in D.C. and done as well. Scott will have to really work hard to outspend Henry the pork barrell King of SC. LOL
