La Socialista Picks Up Tax Scandal Story

taxes

By FITSNews || One of our readers just asked us how we were going to spin Thursday’s big story in La Socialista – a.k.a. The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper – about Florence Rep. Kris Crawford’s tax troubles.

A more accurate question would have been “how is La Socialista going to spin last week’s big story on FITSNews?”

Because we already offered our two cents on this issue … when we broke the story five days ago.

Kris Crawford arrested on tax charges. Seems to be a trend up that way.

Ken Ard had some tax issues of his own. There were some delinquent documents floating around on him somewhere online. Wonder how the corporate tax works for him. Oh wait, he doesn’t run a business, his brother does.

Needless to say, the Florence elected officials don’t have issue raising taxes (Ken Ard and “One Cent Makes Sense”), but sure do have issues paying them.

This whole thing sounds fishy. Crawford doesn’t pay his state tax but for now is in the clear with the feds. I have had issues where things were left off my return and I had to pay back taxes and penalties. Didn’t get arrested, though.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Crawford is an arrogant blowhard, but sounds to me that Leatherman and his cronies are up to BS games. If so, this will be all out war in the Pee Dee GOPee.

This is a joke. Kris Crawford has been a great rep for Florence Co and he’s just getting an old dose good-ole boy politics.

As for Ken Ard – you’ve got to be kidding me. Ken ran a multi-million dollar business alongside his brother for years. His taxes are up to date and anyone who says otherwise is trying to start false rumors and stir up bs. Get a clue.

I hope all works out for Kris and hope he gets back to working for Florence County.

I agree with Strange thing. Something is not clean in this deal. Crawford angered Toal a couple of years ago calling her hand on her corrupt judicial and attorney discipline systems. Keep digging, guys. We haven’t heard the end of this mess yet.

Well … what about Jack A… Landis being allowed to serve on the family court bench (circa 1995) with Twenty Seven Thousand in documented tax liens on his public record.

    Strange Thing,

While I agree with you in some sense, Crawford DID NOT FILE A RETURN. It wasn’t underpayment, overpayment, penalties. He just straight didn’t file a return for several years. There are repeated letters from his CPA practically begging for information so that he can file one, but what it says to me is that Dr. Crawford considers himself well above the law.

Unfortunately for the people of Florence County and the state of SC, this bill has yet to make it into law:

You’ve got to release your “Proof” so people will take you seriously!
