SCGOP: Who Threw Their Hat In?

By FITSNews || Fifty-three republicans have officially declared themselves as candidates for Congressional and Statewide offices in South Carolina in 2010, according to campaign paperwork filed over the course of the previous two weeks with the S.C. Republican Party.

The most crowded race – by far – is the First Congressional District primary, which attracted nine candidates.

Meanwhile, four offices – the Fifth Congressional District, Adjutant General, Agriculture Commissioner and Secretary of State – saw only one candidate file paperwork.

“We are incredibly pleased to have so many strong, conservative Republicans filing for office today,” SCGOP Chairwoman Karen Floyd said. “South Carolinians know the answers to the challenges that face our state lie in lower taxes, smaller government, and protecting liberty. We expect a number of spirited primaries as our candidates lay out their vision to voters.”

Three Republicans running for the SC6 nomination to oppose Clyburn? I hope one of them has some money, because with Clyburn sitting on $7,000,000+ this could turn out to be another Tommy Hartnett experience!!
