Mark Sanford’s “NCAA” Brackets: Dorkology

By FITSNews || There was a time when S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s opinions on national issues … let’s see … “mattered” isn’t the right word, is it?

Hmmm … hold on … we’re thinking …

Okay … let’s just say there was a time when S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s opinions on national issues were “sought …” even if it was only sought by a handful of virgins … err, political junkies who think that goobers like him or the Tim Pawlenty actually stood (stand) a chance of becoming President.

Now?  After this?  And this?

Frankly, it’s comical that Sanford even bothers to express himself on the national stage at all.

And yet he continues to do so, using increasingly cheesy methods.  Take this week’s “Big Government Basketball” brackets, released yesterday by the governor’s office to little notice … in fact, just one notice, according to Google News.

“While the winners and losers in the Big Dance will be decided on the basketball court over the coming weeks, taxpayers in South Carolina and across this country have already lost repeatedly when faced with an ever encroaching government,” Sanford said.

Ummm … alright …

Let’s get one thing straight “right off the bat,” shall we?

Mark Sanford doesn’t know sh*t about sports. Less than sh*t.  He used to believe that there was some mythical “99-yard-line” on a football field, people, and that the “Charlotte Panthers” were … you know … actual cats.  In fact, it’s entirely reasonable to assume that he asked whoever came up with this God awful idea something along the lines of “so … ummm … if someone understands basketball, they’ll understand this, right?”

Ironically, the featured speaker at Sanford’s most recent “mancampment” (pollster Frank Luntz) specifically advises against using sports metaphors because “you immediately lose more than half the population.”

Guess Sanford wasn’t listening.

Most importantly, though – NCAA, Sanford.

As in “Nobody Cares Anymore Asshole.”
