By FITSNews || One of University of South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier’s top quarterback prospects was arrested early Thursday morning for underage drinking and public intoxication, police records indicate.
Aramis Hillary – a rising sophomore who has yet to play a snap of college football – was busted with his brother, CoCo Hillary in West Columbia, S.C. The 6-1, 210-pound dual-threat quarterback from North Augusta is one of three players vying for the backup role to Stephen Garcia.
Hillary is automatically suspended from the team pending the outcome of the charges.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time Spurrier’s players have run afoul of the law. Last year, starting defensive lineman Clifton Geathers was arrested after a barroom brawl, while earlier this year it was revealed that the University concealed news of a gun charge against one of its top receivers for six months.
Even before those incidents, Spurrier’s program had developed quite a reputation for bad behavior.
We’d be a little less inclined to harp on these misadventures, obviously, if the “thug life” of Spurrier’s recruits translated into on-field success.
It hasn’t.
Heading into his sixth season in Columbia, Spurrier has managed an 18-22 record against SEC opponents, a 2-3 mark against arch-rival Clemson and a 1-3 bowl record that includes a humiliating loss to friggin’ Connecticut. In a bowl named after a pizza delivery website.
Like we said … win f*cking games.

Thug life? A college student getting arrested for “public intoxication” and riding in the car with someone that had been drinking is a thug? That’s sound logic. I guess 85% of all college aged kids in america are thugs. What is even worse, is this event garnered “breaking news” status from the Columbia news channels. Having a camera crew at the kid’s bond hearing so that they can parade this kid’s mistake across the air waves is a complete waste of time. It’s a shame the kid made a mistake and got caught. It’s even more shameful this is considered news.

Steven-
We were obviously referring to the other incidents as “thug life,” but since you brought it up we’d like to say what we said 2.5 years ago after the second of four consecutive end-of-season collapses.
“We used to think it was just the Miami Hurricanes and Clemson Tigers that acted like a bunch of arrogant, trash-talking punks on the football field, but South Carolina has gotten just as bad in recent years. Of course, we can’t afford stupid personal fouls and jackass celebration penalties because we’re not that good, which makes you wonder why so much showboating is going on here in the first place.”
Again, dude … it’s not just the arrests, it’s the arrogance so many of these kids display on and off the field.
Like we said, “shut up and play.”
And win f*cking games.

How could anyone hanging out with a guy named CoCo possibly get into trouble? USC is turning into an FSU-Miami hybrid. Just without the winning tradition.

Wait. This guy is named for a cologne and his brother for perfume CoCo Chanel? Did their mother work the counter at Belk’s? Actually, I hope he whips Garcia’s a$$!

At least we are #1 in the country at something. Another fabulous performance by the basketball team as well. I haven’t seen anything blow that much since I watched the Kim Kardashian sex tape.

Wow. Hillary was recruited by my beloved Georgia Tech, but went to SC when he found out Tech required recruits to be able to write their own names and count to ten. What does it say about the so called evil genius? He recruits some rather dumb kids and can not do in six years what Paul Johnson did in his second year. Before you Clemson folks get excited, just remember Tech owns your ass. Still, another dumb kid at USC. Wow, Spurrier, you doing great. You have more kids arrested then bowl wins. Why not us? Because half of your team is locked up.

Apparently these so called “thugs” can win 11 games. Shame on you for making this news. I can think of many many worse things that you could do to consider someone a thug, but not this. 11 games won. Good enough from “thugs”?
