By FITSNews || Former U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins likes to brand himself as a “Republican’s Republican,” and to be fair his record as the Speaker of the South Carolina House (at least his record from 2003-05) was indeed much more fiscally conservative than that of his successor, Bobby Harrell.
Of course that’s not saying a whole helluva lot. After all, you could put Barack Obama in the South Carolina Speaker’s chair and there’s a good chance he’d be more fiscally conservative than Harrell … seriously.
Anyway, given how ferociously Wilkins promotes (and protects) his reputation as a “Republican,” we were a bit surprised to see him hosting a fundraiser earlier this week for uber-liberal trial lawyer Steve Morrison, who is running for mayor of Columbia, S.C. on the Leftist Lying Bastard ticket (j/k … it’s a non-partisan election).
Here’s the invite:
Obviously, this list of hosts is a “Who’s Who” of South Carolina’s liberal elite.
In addition to former “Education Governor” Richard Riley (yeah … how’d that work out, South Carolina?), there’s former Democratic National Committee Chairman Don Fowler, liberal PR guru Bud Ferillo and whacked-out “earth mother” Kit Smith – a former county councilwoman who is slightly to the left of a left-handed turn.
Also on the list? I.S. Leevy Johnson – attorney for disgraced Columbia “poverty pimp” E.W. Cromartie.
Appearing on a fundraiser invite with a bunch of leftists (for a liberal like Morrison) must be the cost of doing business at Nelson Mullins, the law firm where Wilkins and his longtime chief of “staff” Christy Cox are now employed.
Guess Wilkins has become just as much of a sellout as the RINOs they give his “leadership award” to …

Couldn’t help but notice that G. Ross Anderson was not on the list as one of the hosts….. Oh, that’s right. It was all George Lyall’s fault. My bad.

It is about the “club of insiders”. They always support each other and screw us.
why are we last in everything? Cuse the club is in charge…throw the bum’s out.
By Tired of the good ole boys March 9, 2010 at 3:16 pm
That doesn’t surprise me. I just recieved a letter from Wilkins asking for money for RINO Treasurer Converse Chellis too. Clearly that guy will support anyone these days.
Liberal RINO’s of a feather….

Don’t hate the player…..hate the Game.
Bitch and moan should be our State song…..but come Election night everyone lines up to vote the “Christian” ticket…..”I am against Abortion I am for Jesus….so vote for me”.
Until Sc’ers stops that shit this crap will continue…we get exactly what we deserve.
Tactically the progressive Democratic ticket might actually get more done than these wankers.

Umm, Morrison is not what most folks mean by “trial lawyer.”
Depending on your ideology, trial lawyers either represent David versus Goliath or represent bottom feeders trying to dismantle the American economy. Either way, Morrison and his Nelson Mullins partners did not get where they are by representing “the little guy.” And those guys don’t think in “liberal vs conservative” or “Democrat vs. Republican” terms. They think about making money and consolidating power and making money and consolidating power. To them, only schmucks spend time worrying about ideas, ideals, values, etc. Poor, powerless schmucks at that. Only when you see their actions through that prism, do they make any sense at all.

You morons that bitch and moan about RINOs and “good old boys” will never be in power because you are all CRAZY nut jobs. There is the radical confederate (racist) wing of the Republican party, the Religious zealot wing, and of course the “I hate RINO” wing. What a bunch of losers. You will remain on the fringe of power because it is all or nothing with you. Sanford was your hero and that should tell you a lot about who you are and how easily you are duped. You nut jobs would certainly have considered Abraham Lincoln a RINO. None of you half-baked bloggers are fit to shine David Wilkins’ shoes. Go to hell.

AMEN! Justice C. Kerr, AMEN!
By JR March 9, 2010 at 6:37 pm
Cracka is right, in what universe is Nelson Mullins anywhere close to some plaintiffs “trial lawyer”? These guys are representing big business. If they are liberal they are nothing like little guy lawyers, they are WORSE! They are betraying their principles as liberals to make a quick buck!

Justice C. Kerr-
But are we fit to suck Wilkins’ dick?
Based on his history, that would seem to be the more relevant question, wouldn’t it?
Since you’re obviously eminently qualified on that front, how about some pointers?

P.S. – Right, right … less teeth. Sorry.

Looks like David should visit a dermatologist about the top of his head! Way too many sunspots! Maybe that’s what baked his brain!

I see Martin Morad on the host list – a USC professor who makes $373,700 in state salary. But alas, no Jay Moskowitz, who “only” makes $362,135 as a USC prof.

Amen Justice “Seeker.” The “I hate RINO” wing is the most laughable. They consider all but about 5 Republicans RINO’s. And those 5, Will, are the ones who pay you…whether it is in cash or by “sucking dick.” You are a fraud and your readers should know it. Everyone in this town knows who pays you based on what you write, or more importantly what you DON’T write about. Fired from your job as a media spokesperson, you are now writing a blog full of bs and half truths. You are lower than the worst “crony” in this town. Developing…

Fits,
You tell me. How deep did you take Mark? Were you jealous he went South of America? Is that why you turned on your hero? How mixed you must have felt last June when your God fell. How disappointed yet what an opportunity?
David Wilkins is a man. You will never know what that is.
By fitsnews March 9, 2010 at 11:22 pm
Ashley-
No no, dear … five people? EVERYONE is paying our founding editor … remember?
Justice C Kerr – To answer your questions:
1) How deep did I take Mark? Not very. Unlike Wilkins (whose horse schlong is the stuff of State House legend), the governor is hung like a squirrel.
2) Was I jealous when he went “South of America?” No. How could I have been? After all, I got my start on the beaches of Copacabana at the tender age of eleven months. Chasing Latin poontang erectile is in my blood, dude.
3) How mixed must I have felt when I saw my “God” fall? Perhaps you’re new here but this website popped Sanford repeatedly long before his scandal broke. When he was right on an issue we praised him, when he was wrong, we criticized him. Now that he’s irrelevant, we pretty much ignore him.
4) I’m not a man? I have a job, I pay my taxes and I provide for my wife and kids, whom I love dearly. What definition of a man were you thinking of?
Also, people talk trash about me every day that’s ten times worse that anything I’ve ever written about Wilkins.
The only difference is I can handle it.
-Will Folks
P.S. – Thanks for the traffic, though. Both of yous.
By Justice C. Kerr March 10, 2010 at 9:20 am
Will,
Sanford WAS your God, and by that I mean past tense. You worshiped him, served him faithfully, both during the campaign and after, and then when you got in trouble he threw you under the bus. He made public comments designed to spare himself any harm and do as much damage as he could to you. You saw then, perhaps for the first time, who he really was. You saw the same lack of character we all see now. That must have hurt deeply — what he did to you — to be betrayed by someone you had served so loyally and faithfully. He didn’t even wait to see all the facts before denouncing you publicly.
So let’s be clear about the evoloution of your thoughts about Mark Sanford. And let’s also be clear that there were many in Columbia, some of them who were what you would call RINOs, who nailed the guy from the start, who knew within minutes of meeting him that he was a fraud and a liar. There must have been clues visible to his closest circle, you, Jenny, and others, that he was missing a screw or two, because everybody else knew it. So you payed a price for your blindness, as did Jenny, as we all do at one time or the other.
And when people disagree with you or others, be careful about accusing them of performing fellatio on someone. Everyone who was around when you were his press secretary knows how you kissed “Mark” in a place much more forbidden.

Justice C. Kerr: Just how are you and BIN related?
By India March 10, 2010 at 1:57 pm
Alright, Will. I have to take up for my friends. I am very disappointed in your perpetuation of this rumor about Christy and Wilkins. As someone who is very close to Christy and her family, I have to say that when I think aboout who, of the people I know, has a marriage that deserves to be emulated, Christy and Tobe are at the top of the list. And sadly, in today’s world those marriages are few and far between. They have been married for over 15 years and are one of the most loving and Godly couples I know. The rumors of women who work in politics having affairs to get there is part of the territory, I guess. But this one, I KNOW and would bet my life with no hesitation is not true and frankly unfair.
By Justice C. Kerr March 10, 2010 at 2:37 pm
Todd, I don’t know who BIN is but I would challenge you, if can, to correct me on my analysis of Will and Mark. Knowing a person’s motive for making an allegation is important in judging credibility.
