By FITSNews || From the “It Wasn’t Even Funny The First Time” file, another white Southern male in a pseudo-prominent position is in hot water for comparing U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama to a primate.
Walt Baker, a the CEO for the Tennessee Hospitality Association, forwarded an email Thursday evening that compared Mrs. Obama to Cheeta, the monkey sidekick of Tarzan, “Lord of the Jungle.” By Saturday, the ensuing firestorm was the talk of Tennessee and had already cost Baker’s company, Mercatus Communications, its contract with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Last summer – in a story that broke here on FITS - former South Carolina Republican Party activist Rusty DePass compared the First Lady to an escaped gorilla at a local zoo on Facebook. DePass apologized publicly, but was let go from his company anyway.

it’s plain mean and actually cruel to call people names…..
with that said, the GOP needs to take a hike on the trail.

The GOP can’t put two words together to come up with a decent plan for anything…but they can still find time for this. Way to go on the leadership.

Good to see racism is alive and well in the U.S.
It would not matter if everyone in the U.S. looked the same. Everyone would still be divided over something. Just look at the Middle East, India, and Africa.
Mankind can achieve all sorts of unbelievable things, wondrous things like putting a man on the moon , but peace remains so very elusive. It’s saddening.

I’ve decided to give up on civility, that BS has gotten us nowhere. Heinlein was right.

Well, if you listen to some scientists, we evolved from primates and how often have we heard someone tell a friend/relative you look just like a distant deceased relative?? Is it our fault the first lady looks like a distant relative???…

Has anyone seen a picture of Walt Baker? I have. He’s your typical overweight, tomato-faced, no-upper-lip-having Southern goober.
By John Doe March 8, 2010 at 2:55 pm

She does look a little like a primate . . . aren’t all humans primates. It would be different if she was called a gorilla or monkey, ect.
