By FITSNews || U.S. President Barack Obama is “reaching out” to Congressional Republicans … no doubt in response to polling data showing that huge majorities of Americans prefer a “bipartisan” health care solution to the President’s “socialized medicine” approach.
Days after a super-hyped health care summit, Obama is releasing an updated new draft of legislation that he says incorporates GOP ideas (wait, the GOP has ideas?) on several key issues.
From CNN:
In a last-ditch attempt to craft a bipartisan health care reform bill, President Obama will release a new proposal Wednesday that will include Republican ideas on tort reform and health savings accounts, according to Democratic officials familiar with the plans.
But top Republicans, including House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Virginia, immediately said the new proposal is not good enough and reiterated calls for the president to scrap the plan and start over.
The situation is setting up a likely showdown that top Democrats say will end up with the president trying to pass the health legislation with only Democratic votes through the legislative shortcut of reconciliation.
So to recap … Obama is looking to implement some Republican ideas (which may or may not exist) but remains committed to shoving a bill through Congress with or without GOP support.
Where’s the “bipartisanship” in that? Also … why are we still talking about health care reform? What part of a Republican winning a Massachusetts Senate seat did Obama not understand?
Correct us if we’re wrong, but isn’t this “Obama branch” just like the old sweetener approach that George W. Bush used to get the buy-in he needed for the TARP bailout?
In which case we would pose the same question we did back in 2008 … what’s the point of adding a few free market reforms to legislation that’s only going to eviscerate the free market?

I would love to make a bet on this….Even though most people don’t want it.This corrupt government will take control of our lives.I am not sure we can win this war,as they have done a good job of dumping down citizens and promoting apathy. If we can restore Liberty it will be way in the future

On Sunday Nancy Pelosi set out the Liberal definition of Bipartisanship on CNN:
“A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes.”
Elevator response: Pigs fly and the treetops are filled with pork.

None of you wants real Bi-partisanship. You want your side to score political points regardless of the damage it does. (i.e. Dumbass DeMint’s “waterloo” strategy.
Your lies about some huge majority out there are just bullshit GOP talking points that have no basis in reality. Much like your constant flogging of the idea that somehow getting rid of “pre-existing conditions” and arbitrary premium spikes and adding competition to the health industry is somehow going to lead to totalitarianism (which is what you really mean when you spit out the word: “socialist” in this context.)
Hello? this country has been using socialist ideas in practice for 200+ years — i.e. public schools, public roads, police, firefighters, military, bank bailouts, tax incentives, etc…
So I’ll take “socialized medicine” over “bank bailouts” and the grotesque waste of money on military contractors getting federal funds for weapon systems that will never work or are irrelevant now.
And, by the way, your readers really ought to go back to school and take another Poli-Sci course that covers what socialism really is. The idiots on this blog like Liberty For Me are embarrassing themselves. Much like their so-called leadership as well.

What do you expect from the guy who celebrated mass-murderer Mao on the White House Christmas tree but not Jesus?
By No Way! March 3, 2010 at 8:41 pm
This guy can plan on moving out of the White House in about three more years! He is a miserable failure. He is still trying to pass health reform despite no support from the American people. The petal is off the rose on this dude! Wait until doctors and nurses decide to unionize. Wonder if that would help save money! They need a say in this too.

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he’s obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson’s brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Yes….for those that don’t realize it, that is blatant corruption. Just another vote buying scam by this Chicago trained administration. Yet the lemmings sing praises.

You folks that dislike our President so much are so easy to read. Maybe, you might want to buy a ticket to somewhere and leave.

To Scooter
Dislike of the President has nothing to do with buying ‘a ticket to somewhere and leaving’ the USA. It has everything to do with (1) The US Constitution and (2) Federal Politics as usual.
Your suggestion ‘to buy a ticket leave’ is like telling a person being attacked by a grizzly bear to enjoy the experience of being eaten alive or to get out of the bears territory while you still have your skin.
Some of us choose to fight the grizzly bear and keep our skins; read: US Constitution – I am easy to read.

To All Liberals,
The Constitution strictly prohibits govt. intrusion into our lives. The the easy going, want to get along, reach across the isle, useless Republicans that We The People have elected because We The People have been lied to, are just as responsible for this boondoggle as Obama and his minions. Those fence sitters have compromised our law and helped to usurp the Constitution and are now fearful of losing their jobs. While every administration has to share the blame for the erosion of our rights, nothing like what we have seen during this administration has ever been so blatant a move away from a healthy Republic. AND make no mistake about it, This is a Republic, NOT a Democracy. Nowhere in the founding documents does it call America a Democracy. In fact, Democracy was feared to be a step toward Communism. Socialism is Communism and Communism will lead to a One World Government. That has been the goal of NeoCons from both sides of the isle all along. Neo Cons have offered the poorest people in our society hand outs and lies to advance their agenda. Read John Rockefellers Memoirs http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/brainwashing/rockefeller-mind-control.htm and Zibignew Brzezinski’s “Grand Chess Board” http://www.wanttoknow.info/brzezinskigrandchessboard
For those of you who are finally waking up to the conspiracy, What took you so long? and to those of you who have yet to get it, READ.
Mrs. Jenerette, you seem like a smart lady, I hope you go into this with your eyes open and good luck in your race.
