By FITSNews || We were going to write about Texas in our “America” section Tuesday but dammit if that crazy Gov. Moonbeam (no, not South Carolina’s “Gov. Moonbeam”) wasn’t hogging the spotlight …

So yeah … thanks a lot, Jerry Brown.

Anyway, Texans are going to the polls Tuesday to pick their Republican gubernatorial nominee. There are three candidates in the race, two-term incumbent Gov. Rick Perry, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and tea party activist Debra Medina, who has been running an unexpectedly strong campaign.

While Perry is expected to win convincingly, it will be interesting to see if he can win the nomination without going to a runoff.

It will also be interesting to see where Medina finishes up, considering she was running her insurgent campaign against not one, but two establishment candidates (one of whom, Perry, has a decent fiscal conservative record).

Obviously, we’ll have an update Tuesday evening, but whatever happens in this race stay tuned for a special “Texas treat” (one that has NOTHING to do with the Texas GOP gubernatorial primary) later this afternoon …

UPDATE: Here’s your “Texas Treat,” people.  Her name is Jessica Puente-Bradshaw, and she’s a hottie Latino Republican who’s running for the Lone Star State’s 27th Congressional District, which runs from the Mexican border up the Gulf Coast to Corpus Christi.

Va Va Voom!

UPDATE II: As expected, Perry wins big …
