By FITSNews || Our founding editor is an attention whore, people. No doubt about it.
In fact, he’s been clinically diagnosed on multiple occasions with “Look At Me” syndrome, and every time he gets in front of a TV camera you can bet your bottom dollar the interview will quickly devolve into another gratuitously over-embellished exercise in shameless self-promotion.
For realsies …
But just as our website’s whole “Unfair, Imbalanced” catchphrase let’s you know right from the get-go that FITSNews is no normal, unbiased source of information, the man(-child) behind the curtain will be the first to tell you that he’s not interested in being ignored.
“He’s like an infant when it comes to receiving attention,” his wife, the lovely Mrs. Sic notes. “In fact he’s worse than our own infant when he isn’t receiving attention.”
Mark and Jenny Sanford?
Yeah … they’re the same, yet quite the polar opposite when it comes to admitting it. “Attention whores in denial,” we say – and chronic ones at that.
In fact, when it comes to their shared obsession with the media, South Carolina’s lying, philandering governor and his wealthy, opportunistic wife are “Stage Five Clingers.” And always have been (which Sic Willie should know).
That’s why we get always get a good chuckle (or tinge of righteous indignation, depending on our mood) whenever one of these “over-sharers” asks for privacy – or claims that they’re keeping something hidden from public view in an effort to “protect (their) children.”
Please.
If Mark Sanford cared about his kids, he wouldn’t have ditched them on Father’s Day to chase some B-grade Latin poontang erectile on another continent. And if Jenny cared about her kids, she wouldn’t be exploiting his failure as a husband and father to reap “cathartic” profits.
And yet despite months of mutual self-indulgence and shared exploitation of this family implosion, here we have the Sanfords – again – begging for “privacy,” specifically as it relates to their sealed divorce agreement.
At today’s court proceedings in Charleston, S.C., the Sanfords divorce agreement was sealed because, in Jenny’s words, “the children didn’t deserve what happened to them this whole year … their world’s been turned upside down.”
Um, yeah … first by him (obviously), but now by her as well.
Anyway, here’s an excerpt from the governor’s statement Friday:
“I will join with her in asking the press to respect our shared desire for privacy as we quietly move forward. We respectively ask for your prayers.”
(The governor) reiterates that last point, in asking for prayers for he, Jenny and the boys – and again respectfully asks for privacy on these matters relating to the family.
Sheesh.
Aside from the transparent insincerity of this request, by our count this is probably the dozenth (wait … is “dozenth” a word?) press release that Sanford has issued from his taxpayer-funded office regarding his marriage … or soon-to-be lack thereof.
Hey Mark, if you want privacy, quit using our tax dollars to share your f*cking opinion every time something goes down in your “personal life.”
Seriously, you should be able to hire your own PR flak with that $1.7 million in campaign funds you’re sitting on.
Meanwhile Jenny, who attempted to trademark her name and likeness mere days after the scandal broke, has embarked on a massive media blitz in support of her best-selling book, which she claims will help her children (in the same breath as she blames them for her own inner sense of inadequacy when she Googled her husband’s Latin lover).
Mrs. Sanford, incidentally, was richer than God before the scandal broke.
“Privacy?”
“For the kids?”
These two need to seriously STFU already …
Oh, and their divorce agreement needs to be a matter of public record, just like any other divorce decree.

It’s just a matter of time before one of the kids winds up in jail, on Cops, both, or garnishes a reputation for being able to get the second best South American poontang in SC, thanks to his daddy.

Obviously jenny had no idea about her options. I know Mark cheated in public but she didn’t have to have iared on court TV, for the whole world to see. She should have done it the more professional way, the cheaper and private way check the story out

Chill Dude! The divorce decree will be in the public record. The settlement between the plaintiff and defendant will be sealed. Happens all the time, they are not asking for anything unusual.
What the parties have agreed to split and how is really none of our business; but remember to keep an eye out on the deed records in Beaufort and Charleston counties when the decree is final; those are public records.
By Been there February 26, 2010 at 4:23 pm
It is not at all uncommon to have divorce records sealed from public view.

South Carolina admits “We screwed up,” creates Facebook page
The state government class of 2006, often referred to by the rest of the country as “WTF, SC?” has had a tough time in the years since their election, both with those elected and the people who work for them.
Republican Thomas Ravenel was elected Treasurer in November 2006 after a primary runoff and eventual unseating of 9-term incumbent Grady Patterson. Seven months later Ravenel was indicted on federal cocaine distribution charges… and went to prison.
In June of 2009, Governor Mark Sanford made international headlines when he disappeared for a week…
In September, Kristin Maguire, a Sanford appointee to the State Board of Education, abruptly resigned when it was revealed she had been authoring salacious fiction on the internet…
Just before Halloween, Assistant Attorney General Roland Corning was caught in a graveyard with a stripper, sex toys, and Viagra. He said he always kept the Viagra and sex toys in the car “just in case.”
The state’s vice-principal, Lt. Governor André Bauer, has had a sordid history of talking his way out of speeding tickets and odd rumors about his sexuality since he took office, but he didn’t hit the national news until earlier this year, when he compared the state’s poor and need to stray animals, and implied that like those animals, they shouldn’t be fed.
Also, a few weeks ago, it was revealed that State Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom had been having an extra-marital affair with Kelly Payne, a candidate for Secretary of Education.
Sanford’s dalliance led to calls for impeachment, his own divorce, and an uptick in the Argentine sexual tourist trade.

the negative effects of all the media attention on the sanford children are completely intentional. their parents want them as f-ed up as possible so when they get into positions of power and priviledge, they will despise all the serfs and rabble and not feel one bit for the way they are bred to exploit them and abuse them for their own benefit and the benefit of their elite peers. if the kids were happy and well adjusted, they may actually attempt to use their positions of priviledge and power for the greater good, which is counter to the interests of the class of society they were bred to uphold. it is the sanfords job to exploit and demean the masses and they will pass that job onto their children, who no doubt are becoming more and more misanthropic and hateful with every media stunt that their parents participate in.

The only thing I care about in that divorce was observing that the LAW was followed.
It is required that the one filing for the divorce shall testify as to the facts of their case. The first lady was not granted special privilege and permitted to avoid that.
I demand to know how Susan Lee Rice falsely alleging herself to be Susan Rice Collette was allowed to avoid that same law in that same court. See, case file no.: 87-DR-10-0294.

Kristin Maguire “chairwoman of the S.C. Board of Education. Maguire, an evangelical Christian from Clemson who home-schools her four children, is one of Mark Sanford’s closest school policy advisers. She is also…a highly productive writer of hardcore erotic fiction on the internet, posted under the name Bridget Keeney.”

So many SC replubicrat scandals. So little time.
Let’s not forget the Oddest Couple: Richard and Kelly.
And the poor “ItKids.” Political pimps have been exploiting those kids for months for political gain. Now what? Their teacher was “doing” a married man 20 years her senior and it appears it was for politics.
sic(k) willie, can you post the schedule of elected politicians who plan to speak to her class in the next few months. Parents may want to know.

The law says that public officials divorce records cannot be sealed…its a fact…check it out. I think that Sic should demand that it be open to the public as the law calls for!
By justme February 26, 2010 at 9:54 pm
The settlement and financial declarations have NOT been sealed. Jenny asked they be sealed and the Gov. joined in that request. The judge took the issue under advisement and will rule on that at a later date.
