By FITSNews || A liquor store owned by powerful Capital City councilman E.W. Cromartie has been busted for selling alcohol to minors, FITS has learned.
Cromartie’s “One Stop Party Shop” – located on Beltline Boulevard in downtown Columbia, S.C. – was cited last Thursday, sources at the S.C. State Law Enforcement (SLED) confirmed to FITS Wednesday.
City of Columbia police officers were reportedly conducting a investigation into the store and requested SLED’s support – although a city spokesman referred all of our questions regarding the incident to state law enforcement officials.
Cromartie is a legend in Columbia, where he serves as the city’s resident “poverty pimp.” Most recently, he cast a critical vote in favor of the city’s $154 million bailout of a failed downtown University of South Carolina “research campus.”
FITS readers may also recall him bitching and moaning about having to pay for ceremonial “keys to the city” out of his ample taxpayer-funded expense account.
Frankly, the fact that a so-called “leader” like Cromartie sells liquor in the ghetto – to minors – doesn’t surprise us in the least.
Par for the course, people … par for the course.

Hmmm… look back to the ’70s and a bust or two on the same counts of liquor stores owned by a fellow named Anders and just what happened to the “detective bureau” in the Columbia PD at that time.
SLED won’t shake that easy.

So when he is looking for walking around liquor on election day to thank his supporters – all he has to do is accidentally leave the door to the shop open?
