By FITSNews || Photographer Travis Bell – whose stellar photojournalism provides the one redeeming quality of our sports page – was honored recently with the sports action “Picture of the Year” award from the S.C. News Photographers Association.
Taken in Atlanta last September during the Clemson-Georgia Tech football game, Bell’s winning image shows Yellow Jacket running back Anthony Allen getting yanked down by his dreadlocks.

Awesome, right?
In fact, we thought this picture was so cool that we featured it in a separate FITS post the day after the game.
Anyway, the SCNPA is a statewide organization that includes photojournalists from across the Palmetto State. This year’s images were judged by three outside professionals from Charlotte, N.C. Charleston, S.C. and Augusta, GA. To view all the 2009 winners, click here.
And yes, like our girl Katie Hart, Travis is available for weddings, ladies.
