Climate Change “Science” Unravels Further …

By FITSNews || While U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and others continue pushing for a massive energy tax hike, the “science” that forms the basis of their big government interventionism continues to melt away like the remnants of a South Carolina snowstorm.

That’s right … we said South Carolina snowstorm, people.

Anyway, as Graham pushes harder than ever for new energy taxes (even as President Barack Obama retreats on the issue), the scientist whose research formed the basis of the United Nations climate report – and the Copenhagen climate conference – is now contradicting himself and claiming that there has been no “statistically significant warming” over the last fifteen years.

From the Daily Mail (UK):

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers …

… Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

Amazing.

In the space of less than three months, this movement – which threatened to pilfer the pockets of U.S. taxpayers to the tune of billions of dollars – has completely unraveled.

Meanwhile, all of Obama’s so-called “Green Jobs” (which taxpayers forked over billions to create) are going overseas …

And Al Gore has gone into suspended animation. Wait, that would assume he was ever animated wouldn’t it. Never mind.

I too base all of my global long-term conclusions on last week’s weather in Columbia. Doesn’t it matter that 2000-2009 was the globe’s warmest decade ever (World Meteorological Organization)? Or the Olympic events that were postponed because of slush and warm weather?

This sounds like the sequel to Gore’s book should be titled “A Convenient Lie!” :) All created by the UN to get more money – and Al Gore drank the KoolAid!!

I don’t base my global long-term conclusions on this week’s weather in Vancouver. Where have I heard that before?

Arctic ice melt increased 38% in the last decade. Forget the science and just look at the NorthWest passage. It’s becoming a predictable and reliable route. Now where did the ice go? What possibly could melt ice? Fox and those who drink from their well would say that either the oceans have increased salinity or…wait for it…we’re simply getting closer to the sun.

“…we’re simply getting closer to the sun.”

Which…wait for it….has been going on for millions of years on this planet. Our proximity to the sun changes ever so slightly to cause cooling and warming trends. Kind of the way it was set up, you know? The idea that man can affect the climate of an entire planet as huge as this one is utterly laughable and yet, some people have bought it hook, line and sinker.

There is no proof that temps have risen in the last 15 years, at exactly the same time as man was pumping the most carbon into the atmosphere in the history of the planet.
Phil Jones as ,mentioned above , is fast becoming the world’s greatest con artist. His conclusion that Africa would face mass famines in the decades ahead now turns out to be based on absolutely nothing. He has lost the data? The man running the world’s largest most influential global warming center has lost the data?

    The hucksters have been outed.

Pleeeeeease! The koolaid drinkers are stuck on this global warming nonsensense. The same “scientists” were proclaiming the coming ice age thirty years ago. The revelations of the scandals involving fixing the data are not going to change anything. These nuts want to buy into this “climate change” religion. And make no mistake it is approaching the level of a cult.

Forget the Northwest Passage and looking at extended weather patterns. Just because we have a genetic tendency toward high blood pressure doesn’t mean we need to give up anything we don’t like to eat to try and keep it in check. The weather ain’t changin’ because all the posters here disagree with the minority who say it is changin’. Besides, if it is changin’ the government can use the secret machine that controls the weather to make the weather good and survivable. We’ll be okay, but woe unto those who have offended those controlling the machine.

Gee Joe could it be possible that a single cancer cell could cause your ass to assume room temperature over time. With your reasoning I guess not. If you can’t see it, it must not exist. Such would be an atheist’s dream.

They may have been (accidentally) right about the coming ice age after all. Historically speaking, it’s a lot more likely than the reverse.

But really, the whole thing was absurd to begin with. How gullible does one have to be in order to believe that garbage?

Those of us who saw that the obvious scam was, after all, an obvious scam should, however, be nice and deign to forgive the past insults from all those SUCKERS who ate up that huge, stinking pile of fly infested &%*# with a fork and spoon and then, believe it or not, ASKED FOR MORE!

    HA! IN YOUR FACE, SUCKERS!

    WE TOLD YOU SO!

    FREEZE, SUCKERS, FREEZE!

You’ll lick the iceberg and LIKE IT!

You arrogant, tree hugging, green heil fascists acted like you were so enlightened and smarter than the rest of us and you wound up getting it just like Lindsey Graham likes to get it! (No matter what happens, though, I’ll bet someone good money that Lindsey Gaham will NEVER back off his recent conversion to his new religion of Global Warmism.)

    WE ARE AMERICANS!

We are SUPPOSED to be CYNICAL!

That means you tell all those Chicken Little politicians to stick their propaganda and enviro-fascism where the solar radiation won’t reach it.

    DON’T TRUST POLITICIANS!

REPEAT: DON’T TRUST POLITICIANS! (That warning includes the politicians who are disguised as scientists.)

BTW: I think I found Al Gore frozen in my backyard Saturday morning.

I know you people like to rant both ways on this warming stuff…But the truth is, looking at the achievements and inventions of not only this century, but of the last 30 years…How do people not understand we are not going to have the same energy sources in 30 years..The only way we are still burning goal in 2040 is if the government does not let us advance, because they want the power and money of control.

I wish we had some warming now..I am tired of this cold bullshit

    Everyone’s already hit these…

Did we cause the last Ice Age? If not, then did we thaw it? Nope. Nope.

I wish we could separate out the energy sustainability issue (which NOBODY disbelieves) from the kooky global warming debate. Some of us are sick of sending billions of dollars to jackasses who fund madrassas and buy solid gold freakin’ cars with our money.

    Old Bike Dude:

Your obvious sarcasm aside, I don’t trust those politicians you named, either.

We shouldn’t trust ANY of them. Get it?

Is that really a hard concept?

Those who were healthily skeptical of Bush swallow everything the other side gives them because, um, er, hem, haw–IT’S THE OTHER SIDE! WHOO-HOO! Rah-rah! Gooooooo team!

It’s so much easier for most to play team sports politics (discussed further here: http://www.atgpress.com/wtc/wtc_047.htm ) than to actually be responsible and educate themselves in both the (classic) liberal sense by reading John Locke, Frederic Bastiat, the Founding Fathers, and so forth and in the sense of keeping up with who’s saying what nowadays on the issues.

Too many whose foundations of belief are so fragile and who unconsciously realize their own gullibility refuse to read history and to listen to many different viewpoints (no moral obligation to do anything but consider other ideas) in order to educate themselves and keep up for fear of falling out of favor with their “crowd.”

Open your minds! If you’ve got guts, you’ll read about the philosophies that this country was founded on. If you’ve got brains, you’ll get the added benefit of being able to understand and appreciate the wisdom therein.

It’s never too late to play “catch up.” You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how truly intelligent and moral our forebears were.

If green jobs are “overseas,” it is only because we have not yet made the investment and the commitment to a clean energy economy. Currently we are importing green tech from China, Spain, and Denmark. We can reverse that trend, regain our position as industry leaders, create permanent American jobs using domestic resources, improve our national security by decreasing our dependence on foreign oil, and provide us and our children with cleaner air.

These are all benefits of legislation that caps carbon emissions. They are benefits regardless of whether a snowstorm in South Carolina disproves climate change or not. (It, of course, does not.)

Unfortunately we may never know the true answer to man-made global warming as both sides would prefer to throw fucking rocks at each other than approach the issue with an objective state of mind. There is data out there that supports it and there is data out there that refutes it. We need to sift through it to see the validity of it, its limitations, and which way the scales are shifting towards. I don’t think this forum at least could withstand five minutes of debate on the topic without someone throwing in the words cap and trade, global conspiracy, or teabagger. And I find that really fucking sad. We are losing the ability to have civil debate, and gravitating more towards standing up from the table and calling the other guy with a different take on a subject an asshole. Our founding fathers didn’t rely upon Keith Olberman or Rush Limbaugh for their ideas, they formulated their own and were able to back it up with intelligent discussion not just fodder.
