By FITSNews || On the same day that news of his candidacy for Lt. Governor of South Carolina broke in wide circulation, disgraced former Lowcountry judge Larry Richter was schmoozing it up at a ritzy private club in downtown Columbia.
Sources tell FITS that Richter met former SCGOP Chairman (and aspiring political consultant) Katon Dawson at the Palmetto Club on Tuesday, no doubt to discuss how Dawson could assist him in his efforts to bring fresh filth and corruption to an office that has frankly had its fair share of both in recent years.
The Palmetto Club was no doubt Dawson’s choice, though, given its use of uniformed black waiters like the ones found at the “whites only” country club he fooled everyone into thinking he had left a year ago.
What a couple of classy guys, right?
Oh, and Larry …

We have seat and job hopping politicians competing with an Afghan war veteran in a race for the Lt. Governor seat in South Carolina. That’s not much of a competition.
FitsNews was hard on the new guy in the Lt. Governor race, Larry Richter. I am skeptical so far with his buzz. The former judge considered joining the Republican race for SC Attorney General but that idea was short-lived. Will controversy and indecision follow Richter to the State House?
Ken Ard was a Florence County Councilman when he took the role as Florence County Republican Party chairman only to resign one month later. It is curious that he would accept a position when he was starting a campaign for the Lt. Governor seat. Are his career decisions well thought out?
This video of Bill Connor and Ard debating taxes also on fitsnews http://www.fitsnews.com/2010/02/02/connor-versus-ard-on-tax-policy/. Ard exhibits spending habits which are funded by us cash-strapped citizens. Ard touts more taxes as the solution insisting that is good government. Mr. Ard, our lives are not benefited by higher taxes, moreover, taxes grow government and that’s just not the “republican way” now is it?. Bill Connor signed a pledge to never raise taxes. He has also committed to cutting waste.
Bill Connor will dedicate himself to making a difference for South Carolina as Lt. Governor. He has my trust and my vote. http://www.VoteConnor.com

If Kayton Dawson is involved there is money changing hands. He is like a $25.00 hooker on Two Notch Road…he does not play unless moeny changes hands.
It is disgusting.

Kendra–you have some incomplete facts that need to be corrected. Ken Ard was recruited by the Pee Dee Republicans in an effort to defeat county chairman Tommy Phillips, his wife Shelby Phillips who was county executive committee person, Tom Grimes who is the SC6 district chairman and Mike Reino who was county vice chairman and is SC6 district vice-chairman. Once elected chairman, Ken came to the quick realization of what some members of the Pee Dee Republicans were up to and resigned as the county chairman and has since distanced himself from them.
As far as Ken Ard raising taxes,Ken approved a county resolution to allow the citizens of Florence county to vote on adding 1% to the county sales tax for seven years for road improvements on Pine Needles Rd;Timmonsville Hwy;TV Rd and four other main highways in the county. For the record the citizens (not Ken Ard,not the Republican or Demorcrat party) voted to raise the tax with over 55% of the vote. Further there is a sunset provision, that requires the 1% road improvement to expire seven years after approval unless re-approved by the voters.
We currently have two dedicated men (three if Richter joins the race) who each have a vision of where they want to see South Carolina go. One is businessman from Pamplico, one is a Iraq war veteran from Orangeburg and a potential third is a former judge who lives in Charleston that has a cloud of controversy surrounding him. Kendra you are free to support Bill, just as I will support Ken but I feel certain in saying that neither of us will be supporting Larry in the primary (or the general election).

Hmmm… tricks on Sumter street, thought that stopped somewhere north of Taylor St, though the outcall services, we guess would even cross the street from that club and go up 20 or so floors.
Sure they didn’t adjourn ot the Capitol Club on Gervais?

I like Bill Connor’s stances on taxes and cutting waste, but find it ironic that he is also running as a values candidate. There has been some whispers around the water cooler that he had an affair with a fellow law school student while at Carolina getting his JD.
Until his questions about his family values are answered or the rumors are put to rest, I would hestitate to put another person who has a Mark Sanford problem running anything in this state. I think we have all suffered enough!
