By FITSNews || Is the George W. Bush “Miss Me Yet?” billboard that has allegedly cropped up along Interstate 35 in Wyoming for real or a clever internet hoax?
Honestly? Who cares …
MSNBC, of course, is scurrying frantically to figure out who paid for the thing, but as is custom around here we’re choosing to dispense with all the window dressing (or in this case, the Interstate dressing) and proceed directly to the central interrogative:
Miss (George Bush) Yet?
Categorically?
No.
Not even a little bit.
In fact, for every ounce of contempt that we’re feeling for U.S. President Barack Obama and the socialist hordes currently running the country into the ground, we feel precisely 28.2 grams of contempt for Bush and the socialist (Republican) hordes who until recently were running the country into the ground.*
So yeah … the answer is no.
Or “negative ghost rider,” as Sic and Shorty like to say.
Of course, with so much O-bashing going on these days by Republicans who don’t have a leg to stand on (or five legs, like this billboard), it falls upon us from time to time to put things in their proper perspective.
Like this note to our Democratic readers, for example …
*1 ounce = 28.3495231 grams.

I miss the jobs that were lost when he left office. When the oil companies had it figured out who was winning, they started shutting down. When the Oil companies shut down, tens of thousands of jobs are lost.

another one has popped up in Louisiana. I don’t necessarily miss GWB, but the only thing I can think is Positive re the current President is that he will be a one term President.

Absolutely miss W.
My God, like the songs says, “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”.

At least Bush was not such a smug know it all! Obama’s head is waaaaaaaaaaaay to big for his peanut size brain! Anyone with an ounce of sense knows when to stop spending;any working man could tell him that!
By Bob O February 9, 2010 at 2:56 pm
I think it is so damn funny.Any thing to tweek the libs.
By trey_trey February 9, 2010 at 3:22 pm
AWESOME! There should be one at every mile marker.
We miss you GWB!

What socialism? Can anyone please answer this question. Everyone keeps calling the current administration socialist, ever since Fox started that during the 2008 campaign. Socialism for who? Didn’t the government just announce a 3 year spending freeze for at least some social programs? Socialism for the banks and bankers? Is that what you mean? There certainly isn’t any money for the huddled masses. Would someone please articulate why the current administration is socialist when there is only money for big business? Do you mean socialism for big business? Why is it so cool to ‘tweek’ the libs for the sake of tweeking them? Wouldn’t it be better to work for what is best for the people, whether it was put forth by a conservative or a liberal?

I miss Bush like I would miss daily root canals! Actually, I am so glad that fool is gone that I celebrate every day. If only the other big idiot would shut her foolish mouth.
By Reginald February 9, 2010 at 9:18 pm
Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield did more to bankrupt this country, trash the constitution and wreck the military than even the most rapid Obama haters could accuse the current President of doing.
My favorite bumper sticker – “At least when Clinton lied, nobody died.”

What planet were you on for eight of the last nine years?
“Obama’s head is waaaaaaaaaaaay to big for his peanut size brain!”
What planet were you on for eight of the last nine years?
“Anyone with an ounce of sense knows when to stop spending;any working man could tell him that!”
What planet were you on for … well, you get the idea.
Yeah, George W. Bush. King of fiscal restraint.
Whoops. Just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
By No Way! February 9, 2010 at 9:27 pm
A great man! Quite a difference than the little boy we have now. I bet Obama still pees the bed!
By Silence F-ing Dogood February 9, 2010 at 9:39 pm
I think these billboards must be a plant by Obama backers now that his numbers have been sinking somewhat. Obama is having a tough time sloggingh it out, but seeing GWB on the billboard reminding us who got us to this mess and how much shitter the former President could be making it right now if given half the chance. He surely would have invaded Iran, North Korea and probably Pakistan already if given half the chance. And the one thing about fisacl restraint that most neo-conservatives fail to understand is that wars costs money (a lot of money), and just because Bush always did the Iraq and Afghan spending as a part of emgency spending and additional overlays to the budget…it doesn’t mean it was a DEFICIT.
By Silence F-ing Dogood February 9, 2010 at 9:42 pm
The only thing giving cover to the current ludicrou deficits by Obama is the fact that GWB made it fashionable to spend more than 2 billion a DAY over what you take in in revenues. These morons. Bush cut taxes and increased entitlement spending. Jees Louise, at least the dems having the common decency to raise taxes when they raise spending…

Hey maine,
For a comprehensive look at why people think this Administration and Dear Leader are Marxists, Communists and Socialists go to Newzeal.blogspot.com and read the Obama files, there are 90 something at last count.

What a bunch of Public School un-educated pukes.
Silence F-ing Dogsh*t, Get your facts straight before you open your pie hole. And learn to spell.
Reginald and Ryan you must be idiot twins at least, morons at best!
Reginald, Carter and Clinton’s weakness got us into this mess. Dumbass!
Scooter go back to you play pen, you are definitely not an adult, nor
will you ever be one. And check your diaper!
Definition of a liberal. Someone who is so open-minded, all of their
brains have fallen out.
By dirtbogger February 10, 2010 at 8:28 am
2 sides of same coin, fuck’em both! Forgin policy has not changed at all, except now the CIA is bombing useing predators over Pakastan. The only reason we have not attacked Iran yet is they are Russia’s main supplyer of oil. Russia also stated that if we did it would most likely result in world war. Who’s side do you think China would be on?
By doninvirginia February 10, 2010 at 8:36 am
Silence, Reginald, Ryan, and Scooter. How do you like the negative comments?
I teach political science, I tell my students to get the facts first in making political decisions and statements. Dig deeper.
You may not like what you find, but at least try to get to the truth before you let loose with the vitriol.
Neither Bush or Obama have been perfect as President.
Now that I’ve insulted your intelligence, and you can see anyone can be crass and rude. That only makes people think emotionally not rationally. When that happens, it isn’t productive. Our system is
based on give and take, dialogue, and compromise. Unlike our original comments.
Take some time and get your facts straight (both sides of the story).
And have a great day.
P.S. Ignore my first comments, they were only meant to get your
attention.
And for all the “conservatives” the same lesson applies to you!
Today, is just my day to pick on the “liberals”.
Try to find some humor in everything, you’ll live longer.

I kinda miss Ol’ Bush.
He never bowed down to dictators or fist-pumped foreign thugs.
He never bashed the USA whilst on foreign soil.
He never even celebrated mass-murderes like Mao on the Whitehouse Christmas tree.
Sure, he had his flaws.
He usually admitted his mistakes.
Obama’s arrogance prevents him from accepting any blame.
Color me sentimental, I suppose, but I believe this nation was much less polarized and much more united under Bush.

It’s “The Barry & Georgie Show!”
I’m a little bit socialist
I’m a little bit fascist pig
I’m a little bit of Marx and Trotsky
With a little bit of Hitler in my soul
I don’t care if it’s Constitutional
But I know I love power so
I’m a little bit socialist
I’m a little bit fascist pig
I like that peace that comes from a populace under thought control
And when I round up dissidents, I can torture them all night long
I’ll love my country when all are on the dole
I win out on election night based on false dilemma–either/or
I know if I’m feelin’ right
No matter how left I go
With little bit of socialism
And a little bit of fascism, too

The billboard is just red meat for the pro wrestling fans, who would rather squawk mindless talking points(see above) from their “side” than look at the facts. Bush more than doubled our national debt. He ran up more debt than any other president in our history. Obama and Bush , like 99% of all Republicans and Democrats, are in the pockets of the big corporations. Granted, Obama is black and therefore gets the white bigot criticisms, but Bush and Obama differ little in overall budgets or policies. Note the 2 wars, the huge military spending increases, and the general trend of bigger and more expensive government during both their reigns.
Here is a very small example of how tax dollars are being wasted.
“In early 2005 CIA officials told the Washington Post that at least 50 percent of its estimated $40 billion budget for that year would go to private contractors”
And they couldn’t even stop the underwear bomber….

The Connecticut cowboy never bowed down to leaders. He just walked hand in hand with the Saudis after a kiss on the cheek. When did he ever admit making a mistake? His partner in crime Rumsfeld is photographed shaking hands with Saddam. Neither of them are going to win any humility awards unless it’s an attempted bribe like the recent wasted Nobel Peace Prize. The only time the country was so united under the cowboy was after the country was attacked following the cowboy’s lack of interest in trying to prevent them in 2001. Then everyone was in shock and willing to give up as many rights and freedoms as possible to those who failed to prevent the attacks. What is needed is someone who works for the interest of the citizens, not someone who works for big business only. Elmer got it right.
By rick in missouri February 10, 2010 at 12:11 pm
This stuff of blaming Bush for everything is nonsense. Let^s go back and take a history lesson. Start with the Civil War Era: Republicans and Lincoln wanted to end slavery while southern Democrats wanted to keep the practice. When the civil rights movement of the 1960s was progressing, it was the Dixie-crats (southern democrats) who fought to keep the blacks down. Dixie-crats like Byrd of West Virginia and Al Gore^s daddy, who were card carrying members of the KKK. It was Republicans who pushed the civil rights through Congress after Kennedy was killed. Then Jimmy Carter came along. He wanted to make housing affordable for everyone. He is the one who started the high-risk mortgage problem. Clinton came along and increased the problem to where 50% of the loans being made were high risk loans. Congress helped make matters worse by pressuring the banks to make the loans and underwriting them with Fanny Mae & Freddie Mac. Check out Chris Dodd and Barny Frank^s role in this sham. But good ole George Bush gets the blame, thanks to our liberal news media.

Praising Mr. Danger for so many arguably good things is nonsense. The missouri history lesson had nothing whatever to do with what happened under the years 2001-2009. Even Republicans don’t miss him. Even if what rick in missouri said was true, today’s financial fiasco isn’t because of Carter. How many years since 1981 have passed? 29? Republicans have only been in power 20 of those years and had plenty of time to reverse those policies, like abortion and high-risk mortgages. Didn’t the GOP control Congress from 1995-2007? The Constitution was nullified for the most part after 9/11 with the blessings of the people. If they can nullify that document or ‘piece of paper’, why couldn’t they stop these high risk loans? I guess the first 2008 Wall Street bailout which is going strong was a Democrat’s fault. The issue here is not how the Republicants have or haven’t done this or that. The issue is what do people think of a specific republican. TommyC has a good little take on it except I can’t grasp where any of the working people can be on the dole. Big business, yes. Little people? Show me.
By WorkingTommyC February 11, 2010 at 9:00 am
show me state:
The key is that not everyone is TOTALLY on the dole. Their idea is to get even the working folks dependent in SOME small way on the Big G.
