John Mayer Giving Free Concert In Columbia, SC

By FITSNews || Grammy-winning musician and Hollywood boy toy John Mayer will give a free, impromptu concert Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Carolina Coliseum, where he has been practicing for the last few days with his band in preparation for their upcoming tour.

Mayer’s tour – which will support of his fourth album, Battle Studies – kicks off Thursday in Tampa and will play the North Charleston Coliseum on Monday.

Only 150-200 tickets to the surprise show at the Carolina Coliseum will be given out, and only University of South Carolina students are eligible to receive them.

Mayer made the surprise announcement via his Twitter page.

Many musicians have rented the Coliseum as a practice facility in recent years due to the fact that it is a large indoor arena that is currently not in use.

UPDATE: Before any of our brothers-in-law log on, we’d like to preemptively state that our founding editor owns three Mayer albums … and is proud of it.

    “…me and all my friends
    we’re all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there’s no way we ever could
now we see everything that’s going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don’t have the means
to rise above and beat it…

it’s hard to beat the system…”

One of my favorite songs…but, I’m trying to beat this system and I’m not waiting.

    The time is now!
