The Curious Case Of The City Hall Vandal

By FITSNews || A month after an anonymous vandal spray painted racist graffiti on City Hall in Columbia, S.C., the trail leading to the elusive perpetrator appears to have grown cold … assuming anyone’s following it, that is.

In fact the crime – which prompted a flood of press conferences, national media coverage and racial introspection in a state still struggling to overcome its racist past – has all but been forgotten by the public, and appears to be slipping from the radar of public officials.

“I haven’t been updated on this in the last ten days,” Columbia, S.C. Mayor Bob Coble admitted to FITS Thursday.

The racist graffiti was discovered early in the morning on December 30, and Coble and members of City Council gathered within hours to publicly condemn its message.

What did it say?

no n*gger mayor die

Steve Benjamin – the African-American mayoral candidate at whom the slur was directed – also blasted the graffiti at his own press conference, which was held later that same afternoon.

Since then, however, the story has all but disappeared from the public’s radar.  Additionally, the investigation into the incident has stalled. In fact, one city official told FITS that unless someone with knowledge of the crime came forward, the mystery was unlikely to ever be solved.

Needless to say, that’s prompted all sorts of wild conspiracy theories about the incident.

In an effort to get to the bottom of this situation, FITS has submitted Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to both the City of Columbia and the Columbia-based U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeking access to security footage.

Well let you know what we uncover …

The bad grammar is very telling.

The sentence structure with the appended verb after a negative declaration is characteristic of a certain dialect and it’s not what you’d expect from a white Southerner.

Maybe we’ll find out something. Word usually gets out eventually. Typically, NO ONE who engages in that sort of behavior can keep his mouth shut.

My guess? It was done by a black, to gain sympathy for the candidate. Maybe the act was picked up by a camera. Now everyone is too damn afraid to tell it like it is. But that is just a guess.

A former State Rep was famous for torching their signs, making sure the media was there, and crying about it. How do we know it wasn’t some overeager supporter trying to drum up sympathy?

The above, is also indicative of a person who frequents PayDay Lending type establishments. Possibly someone was in way over their head in interest payments (nah!) and a deal was worked out, so that the principal and interest would be forgiven if a little paint was applied to a wall that needed touching up. I think Oliver Stone would agree?

Maybe sic(k) willie will finally uncover the Midlands’ elected official he once claimed has a Strom problem.

Maybe sic(k) willie will uncover the family of the “poor little black girl” he once claimed sanfraud paid off.

Maybe he will uncover sanfraud’s laptop. You know. The one sic(k) willie tried to get with a FOI request.

Maybe sic(k) willie will just waste more of our time and his money getting a tape that will likely show nothing except maybe some grainy ghost.

    Maybe.
