By FITSNews || The United States of America … where’s it at?
That’s the question that President Barack Obama is supposed to answer in his first State of the Union address Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. – but do we really need a politician to give us the answer to that question?
Of course not …
The “State of the Union” is not good, people.
Despite the largest, costliest government economic intervention in history – which, in fairness, was foisted on the free market by both Obama and his predecessor – the U.S. economy remains stuck in neutral.
Unemployment – and underemployment – are through the roof.
Overall economic growth is marginal at best.
Welfare rolls are swelling, and in passing his failed “stimulus” last February, Obama actually undid the successful welfare reform efforts of the 1990s.
Long story short? Trillions of dollars have been blown on “recovery” with nothing to show for this investment but an out-of-control debt and exploding deficit.
And for all his talk of a “spending freeze,” even the Obama-friendly Congressional Budget Office is showing ten-year deficits reaching as high as $13 trillion (once several unrealistic, Congressionally-mandated assumptions are removed from the calculation).
That would put the total public debt at $22 trillion in 2019.
Amazingly, in spite of these numbers Obama is pushing forward with a $2.5 trillion health care plan and a “cap and trade” energy tax hike – i.e. the very last two things we need to be doing to our budget and economy, respectively.
What’s the deal here?
After all, voters in Virginia, New Jersey and even Massachusetts have told Obama “No, No, No,” but he refuses to listen to them.
The “State of the Union?”
It’s full speed ahead off the cliff …

Clinton Biden 2012
Just as Bill Clinton said of Barry in Columbia at the SC Dem primary
“He is not capable of handling this job…he has no experience”.
Just as Rev. Wright said from under the bus…..”Barry is just a politician”.
Showing just how vacuously elitist this poor guy is…he has begun to position himself as a wounded warrior …..a one termer….but a good soldier.
Now I agree that most of all this crap is Bush’s fault and the GOP shoots itself in the foot by not admiting this more strongly.
But here is a tip Mr. President.
For all those white female voters who voted you into office either by guilt or expectation….before you leave the court with your ball…
how about actually doing something for someone other than Banksters or the MIC.
Just view the Geithner\Paulsen hearings today……how many Goldman voters do you think there are.
I mean it would not even bother me if you tried to help Afro Americans in some revolutionary way….but hell you can’t even get that right….the only folks you are helping are richer white folks…….come on do something for your people….. because unlike “The Schrub” and SMU…. I am not sure anyone is going to build your library at this point.

To No Name:My paycheck went up by a couple percentage points in March 08 after Obama signed a bill regarding taxes, my family members’ jobs were save b/c of the stimulus money to SC,and although I do not need it, Obama’s plan gave first time homebuyers a tax credit, he’s proposing to double the EIC credit, hopefully healthcare reform will pass so my premiums will stop going up if the ins co.had competition and I feel good about the direction we r taking with the war.The hope and change I was promised is working out just fine.

How ’bout Obama shamelessly attempting to intimidate the Supreme Court?

What a true embarrassment to the office and our nation!

Journey1-
Just think, if you are a union member or a government employee, Obama’s health care bill won’t tax your “Cadillac Plan.”
If you aren’t a member of the unions or a government employee…tough luck! After all, Obama’s gonna steal from you to buy the votes of union members and gubmint employees…

A machine operating at an extremely high rate can’t suddenly be turned off without causing major damage. What’s the point? The federal government’s spending had increased dramatically over an 8 year period. No president in the history of this nation could suddenly step in and do nothing. All the comments posted have equate to nothing more then a bunch of complaints but not solutions. Had President Obama took office and did nothing….as many of you seem to have wanted. Then you would be complaining that the President isn’t doing anything to fix the problem. Was TARP something any of us wanted…no! But that was proposed by the Bush Administration and it garner bipartisan votes. The biggest problem was the proposal lacked the mechanisms to be truly successful [i.e. any financial institution considering applying for TARP funds (coded for tracking) cannot use any for compensation/labor costs.]
Here’s some food for thought, the next time you hear of a major corporation (publicly traded, especially) is preparing to layoff employees check out their financial summary over the last 3 years. You’ll be surprised by what you find out!
