Graham Still Pushing Energy Tax Hike
By FITSNews || While the rest of the country is rejecting the radical agenda of President Barack Obama, one South Carolina Republican is doing everything he can to get one of its most radical components enacted.
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham met last week with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Senators John Kerry (D – Massachusetts) and Joe Lieberman (ID – Connecticut) in an effort to revive “cap and trade,” the massive energy tax hike that Obama has disguised as an “emissions marketplace.”
Graham has publicly flip-flopped on this issue more times than we can count – most recently supporting the legislation, which Obama’s own Treasury Department estimates could cost the average American family as much as $4,000 a year in increased energy costs.
Next up, Graham was the keynote speaker at a Wednesday morning meeting of the Natural Resources Defense Council, one of Washington’s most left-leaning, well-funded environmental groups.
“We seek to break down the pattern of disproportionate environmental burdens borne by people of color and others who face social or economic inequities,” reads the group’s mission statement. “Ultimately, NRDC strives to help create a new way of life for humankind.”
Sheesh …
Obviously, this is obviously not the first time that Graham has partnered with the left flank of the environmental movement, although in the past he has sought to conceal the fact that radical environmentalists were bankrolling his PR defensive (click here, here, here and here if you want to read the meticulously-documented stories exposing the scam).
Graham is the only Republican in Congress supporting “cap and trade,” incidentally, one reason that local Republican groups in Charleston, S.C. and Lexington, S.C. have censured him in recent months.

Where’s “You Lie!” Joe Wilson when we need him to call you out for your disingenuous drivel?
Lindsey has been on record for months against the Waxman-Markey or Kerry-Boxer Cap and Trade bills — the bills you reference. He said both of those should be killed.

“You can have a hybrid system of emission controls and taxes,” he said.

Lindsey is fearless when he is convinced that his actions will help the State and country.
Lindsey is also not stupid…… he is very well informed and due to his lack of family committments ….no wife and kids …and believe me we have a lot of politicians that are simply stupid……he outworks most of the slack asses that exist in DC.
So what is his “thinking” ….thinking that causes him to continue to keep flogging this Cap and Trade….a politically suicidal position….now burdened with a “Congressional vote projection” that is a tactically problematic position….a position that not only became more questionable after the Bay State revolt…..but that also undermines his more important position as State 2012 GOP Presidential annointer….. by his supposed manipulation of State and County party officials.
Because if he keeps this crap up…..officials will be pressed by activists at every monthy GOP county meeting to continue to tee off on these inexplicable positions with censures and other embarassing party votes.
Some observations for consideration.
1. Lindsey can not be a powerful savior to the State ….and thus be powerful in 2012 …….unless he creates or manifests more Federal intervention in our lives and more crisis ….which in this case is promulgated by a clear one termer ….that is Obama ….without a fire Lindsey can not look like a savior.
Lindsey and John McCain met with Barry and Rahmbo in Chicago right after the election to map out a couple of things.
1. At this meeting….. I believe one could conjecture the following conversation transpired “No hard feelings….we are all Senators…. lets all help each other and I…. Lindsey…. am prepared to lead the bi-partisianship”…..Snow and Collins did not get this memo btw…..”And on a couple of issues like Cap and Trade I can be your man”.
If I do Rahmbo I will need some advanced sugar……..like Boeing.
Lindsey then made a very early comment in this run up to his John Kerry duet called Crap and Fraud….. that tells us that he had advanced knowledge of the Obama game plan…. when he mentioned in multiple town hall meetings that “unless we do something….the EPA will do something harsh”.
Low and behold that is exactly what happened…..on que… when the EPA ….right before The Copa Junket ….made an unprecentedly audacious move by claiming that “bad breath” was polution.
Also right on script….. Kerry and Lindsey published a grand joint statement in the WSJ about Crap and Fraud…..the music started playing and if it were not for what may be the actions of the old Soviet KGB…. who apparently hacked the emails of the climate pretenders in Englend…..and boldly showed the world the absolute Bull Shit science that was being foisted on us …..bull shit science that continues to be exposed every day ….Google Himalyan Glaciers and the UN for the most recent shit science….then we would have had a Copa wave rolling over us today.
Luckily it…..the B***t F****ing…. did not happen ….it will not happen …and all these governmental officials and related special interests….. lined up by politicians like Lindsey to build and create all theses solutions…..for shit that may not be real….may not.????…….all these special interests are just fucked…..and now angry that this fraud will not make them all rich like they were promised.
Lindsey got Boeing in advance for his leadership on what is now a dead issue ….dead for everyone except apparently Lindsey.
I know you can not Ramhbo “deal”… Lindsey…. if you renig on this stuff.

If we had a constitutional government we would not have any of these problems…Lindsey Graham would not have much say and there would be no subsidies on power.
That would let free enterprize decide what we need and at much cheaper costs…Give back the constitution and destroy corporatism.

You’ve got some interesting ideas and your time line brings up some great points of coincidence that, as you point out, are not coincidence.
I haven’t heard the KGB angle. Not sure what to make of that.
I have heard that he’s angling for an Obama cabinet position–SecDef is the only one that makes sense–but who knows.
He’s definitely shooting for an eventual run at president. But, as you so clearly point out, he is totally out of touch with reality. He’s got the same chance of being president as McCain does now.
By his reckoning, however, being the ultimate panderer that he is, he thinks he has to own the cap and trade/enviro-fascist issue in order to get enough liberals to support his presidential bid.
Graham knows he’ll never excite enough of the Republican base to get elected against a Dem so has the perverted fantasy of capturing enough of the Dem votes to win with just enough of a resigned and neo-con conservative base.
The problem his scenario is that he can’t get there from here. He can never win the primary despite what McCain pulled off. He is damaged goods and too well known for being the powderpuff that he is.

I heard from a reliable source that Dorchester County Republican Party members attempted to Censure Graham the 27th. Graham minions converged and oversaw the party dissection of the word “censure”.
They never got to the Censure Resolution because the leadership squelched it. Was Freedom of speech suppressed? Do the DC GOP still believe Graham is a “conservative” and “a good republican” after these two stories (see Left of Obama story) . Do those Dorchester county republicans live in caves?
