Olympic Ladyness: This Is A Test

caster

By FITSNews || The International Olympic Committee will randomly test female athletes to make sure that they’re … how do we say this … not packing any unauthorized appendages in their pants.

Just call it the Lady Ga Ga test.

The decision was reached after “female” South African sprinter Caster Semenya was revealed to be a hermaphrodite following her record-setting performance last summer at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

From Gawker:

The decision comes after a two-day conference on the topic of sex-verification. The medical specialists gathered decided that, in light of the super-complicated Semenya case, it was time to advance IOC sex-verification testing past merely checking to see if athletes have the proper dangly bits when they pee in a cup for drug testing.

Accordingly, the IOC will now set up health centers that diagnose and treat athletes with “ambiguous sexual characteristics,” or “disorders of sex development.”  Guidelines for participation in Olympic events will also be promulgated.

In related news, the Chinese women’s swimming team was inexplicably disbanded  as soon as the conference broke.

Vaaaaaaatt???

Waaaaaaatt???

UPDATE: Obviously we’re joking about that last part. The Chinese women’s swimming team is, as far as we know, still in existence.

I think the IOC will stay with the old East Germany standard. If a girl’s testicles do not show through or protrude outside of her bikini, she can compete as a female. Standing to pee is not a disqualifier.
