By FITSNews || Conan O’Brien has signed a severance deal with NBC that will pay the late night talk show host approximately $32 million. Another $12 million will go to the comedian’s crew members.
Under the terms of the agreement, which was announced on NBC’s Today show Thursday morning, O’Brien would be able to go on the air with another network on Sept. 1.
“In the end, Conan was appreciative of the steps NBC made to take care of his staff and crew, and decided to supplement the severance they were getting out of his own pocket,” O’Brien’s agent, Gavin Polone, told the Wall Street Journal. “Now he just wants to get back on the air as quickly as possible.”
O’Brien’s final show with NBC will be Friday, and will include guests Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell – who was O’Brien’s first guest on The Tonight Show.

Another victory for labor. Some high level corporate bozo puts the screws to its employees and it costs his company 44 million….nice.

Having only watched this boob only once (that was all I could stand), his demise is wonderful. The questions is, who are the idiots that hired him in the first place?

I love Conan! So sad to see him go – he’s a true class act and the best host that the Tonight Show ever had. He will be missed. Don’t ever change, Conan! We love you!

For those who are too young – or were too uninterested, at the time – to recall, it might help to get some background on this story. Read all about how Leno acquired The Tonight Show gig, back in 1993.
