Scott Brown: GOP Angel Was A Centerfold
By Mande Wilkes || Just the sort of thing I’m going to have to answer for when I’m a politician, Scott Brown’s centerfold days have come back to haunt him.
Brown – the Republican candidate who is expected today to win the Massachusetts Senate held by the late Ted Kennedy – once posed provocatively for Cosmopolitan magazine.
Huh?
Back when he was a twenty-something law student, Cosmo named Brown “America’s Sexiest Man” in its June 1982 edition – and he posed for the magazine with nothing but a strategically placed arm.
Now, maybe I’m missing something – that did occur well before I was even born – but one look at Brown’s Cosmo spread tells me he surely can’t have been America’s Sexiest Man. Surely not. (But then I also find it impossible to believe that Johnny Depp is perennially America’s sexiest man. Ick.)
Anyway, I’ll come right out and say Brown’s pose is hardly news. In fact, Cosmopolitan itself reported it way back in September. So why hasn’t the media covered it? Perhaps Sarah Palin – herself no stranger to less-than-professional photoshoots – was right to call out as sexist the media’s coverage of politicians.
So … with regard to sexual expression, do male politicians get a free pass from the media while female candidates get the, um, shaft?
I’ll let you know.
UPDATE: At our founding editor’s insistence … “Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na …”

Mande:
Since you said this is the kind of thing you’ll have to answer for, does that mean you have a centerfold out there, too?

I am not quite sure why people always take shots at Sarah Palin. Why the hatred? Those pictures she had taken were for Runner’s World Magazine and they show a successful mother and professional woman who likes to stay in shape. Yeah…that is a horrible example for the people of this country…we need to blast her…
Scott Brown may be naked, but you cannot see anything. I wonder why the liberal left is so upset. You cannot see more than you can see on any beach. Although you do not find him attractive, I think you can admit that he at least does not make you sick…he is in good shape. So what is the issue? Is the left turning puritanical? I wonder how all the crazy Hollywood elite will feel about that.

Makes me more likely to vote for him.
He’s like Austin Powers, Women want him, men want to be him.

Let’s face it, if you have it flaunt it. Martha never had it.

The Democrats didn’t want people to see these pics because the key demographic which propelled Obama to victory–women–more specifically, white women–would jump ship in the Bay State and vote for Brown in droves…

#1. I love how Hypocritical some people can be. A Republican says something that was construed as racist, what happens??? He loses his job. The same thing happens with Harry Reid, what happens?? Nothing. If Scott Brown had been a liberal actor in his former PRE-political life, and had been filmed in the nude, He would’ve been totally excused but no, He’s being stoned by every Hypocrite with a stone in site.
#2. Everyone has a past. I don’t understand why these men/ women (politicians) feel like they need to hide every mistake they’ve ever made. EVERYONE makes mistakes. I would much rather have a political leader that can own up to a mistake than dance around one or try to “clean up ” or “erase” the past. What we need are leadres with CHARACTER. Who has more character?? The person that makes mistakes and covers them up, or the person that owns up to them?? Who would you trust more?? Mistakes keep us humble, mistakes are human. I personally would chose a leader that has made mistakes and own up to them rather than a squeeky clean “cover my tracks”, “tell ya what you want to hear”, leader.
#3. Keith Oberman- put down your stones pal, Someday someone might uncover your not so public dirty secrets. What will YOU do then? All the liberal machine can do is destroy peoples reputations by calling them unfounded names such as “Homophobe” and “Racist”. It used to work, but people are seeing that it’s the only way you can win. If Keith Oberman were required to prove his accusations about Scott Brown, He could’nt do it….so they resort to name calling. Those names dont scare us anymore.

You can’t see his junk. If that were the case, well …

Kind of funny to see the Republicans excuse him…I fail to see how the base can not send in a real conservative for 2012 – so if he wins this one he’ll be out in 2012 and the seat will once more belong to a Democrat.

At least it’s not a similarly posed picture of Barney Frank!

Amazing about Scott Brown’s centerfold career in the 70’s. Levi Johnston’s similar photos in Vanity Fair are “pornographic” per his almost mother-in-law Sarah Palin, but Scott Brown gets elected a Republican Senator. I personally don’t care if anyone wants to take his clothes off in a magazine, presumably getting paid for it, but why is one fella doing it ok and another not?

to don, people on the left don’t give a damn about brown’s nude photos. it’s the hypocrisy of the right. if this guy was a democrat the right would be calling him all kinds of vile names and condemning him for these photos. but because he’s a republican they are mute.
