I remember as a kid visiting the State Capitol and they let us stand in and watch a vote, someone had to rouse the Very Right Robert Ford from deep sleep so that he could go vote.

“will be honored at a Black History Month celebration in North Charleston, S.C. next month…the gathering will double as a fundraiser for Ford’s gubernatorial campaign…”
That is hilarious, but good P.R. work on Ford’s part to make his fundraiser events were “he will be honored.”
FITS if you weren’t getting paid to print this stuff it would be even more humorous.

Will,
I like the move Ford as made on school choice as well and qpparant aliance with Republican thinking. I think it does create a real crack in what has been the “black monolith” on school reform issues.
However, I don’t think Ford has a history of clean dealings that a hero would make.

Ford is not so far off base, your screamers. Having just returned from New Orleans, it is in all their newspapers (not quite as thin as The State yet, but almost) low income minority students are making progress significantly ahead of the national averages – with modified school choice and charter schools. Something to think about guys.
Wouldn’t it be a blast to have Dwight Drake and Robert Ford as the top 2 Democrats in the guvnership primary? I like V. Sheheen, but as for pure entertainment, Drake v. Ford for me.

Will:
Does it hurt you to promote an idiot like Ford who, if not for his school choice stance, would be mocked and ridiculed by FITS…
Sort of like this:

Robert Ford has learned the lessons of politics. For years he was against anything the “white establishment” proposed. He has finally learned that there are two sides to every story and that if you want to get anything done you need to learn how to compromise. Oppose everything and you will get nothing you want passed either. A lesson lost on many state and national Republicans.

If Robert Ford wasn’t on the dole w/ Howard Rich, The Sic One wouldn’t waste his time printing this one.
