“Houston, We Have Some Blow”

By FITSNews || Officials at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are trying to determine how an empty cellophane bag containing cocaine residue wound up in a restricted hangar where the space shuttle Discovery is currently being prepared for a March launch.

Hmmm …

We’re not Hercules Poirot or anything, but we’re guessing somebody probably snorted the cocaine and then forgot to grab their baggy when they were done. Ta-da!  Either that or the shuttle is about to become the world’s fastest drug mule.

Either way, the “baggy” was found Thursday morning outside a bathroom in the restricted shuttle hangar known as Orbiter Processing Facility No. 3.  NASA said there were “no indications” that anyone was high while working on the Shuttle.

“We have processes that will ensure the integrity of the shuttle,” Kennedy Space Center spokesman Bob Cabana said in a statement. “There is no reason whatsoever to believe this incident will have any impact on Discovery’s upcoming launch.”

Discovery is NASA’s oldest shuttle, having flown 37 missions during its 26-year run. It flew three missions last year, and is scheduled to fly its final mission (and the final flight of the shuttle program) in September of this year.

“Mention Upstate South Carolina to most out-of-towners, and they’ll start whistling “Dixie.” But not these people. They came from different walks of life. They came from all corners of the globe. But they all have one thing in common: they’ve seen what the Upstate has to offer, and they have all said the same thing. “I was blown away.” ”

Our county tax dollars, here in the Upstate, help pay to fund this.
