Back Row Boys No Longer

By FITSNews || If your group’s nickname made you sound like the member of some loser 1990′s boy band, you’d probably want to change it, too.

Well, that’s just what a group of fiscally conservative South Carolina State Senators has done … shedding the light-in-the-loafers “Back Row Boys” label they’ve been saddled with in exchange for the much more virile-sounding “William Wallace Caucus.”

It’s unclear exactly when the name change was formally accomplished, but we’re obviously obliged to call these taxpayer heroes whatever they want to be called.

So who’s in the Back Row … err, sorry … “William Wallace Caucus?”

According to one of its founding members, the “core group” consists of recently-elected Senators Lee Bright, Kevin Bryant, Tom Davis, Mick Mulvaney, Mike Rose and Phil Shoopman (all of whom received ‘A’ grades on a recent fiscally-conservative scorecard, in case you were wondering).

Its “grizzled veteran” contingent includes Senators Chip Campsen, Larry Grooms, Greg Ryberg and Danny Verdin.

Sen. Shane Massey is listed as a “part-time” member.

Obviously, that means the rest of Senate “Republicans” – i.e. Glenn McConnell, Hugh Leatherman, Thomas Alexander, Paul Campbell, Ray Cleary, John Courson, Mike Fair, Wes Hayes, Jake Knotts, Larry Martin, Shane Martin, Billy O’Dell, Harvey Peeler, Luke Rankin and David Thomas – are members of the “Gay Confederate/ Midget Socialist” Caucus.

UPDATE: Awww come on … gay as in happy, people. Gay as in happy!

These guys are not really good at names that is for sure.It at least kind of leads toward the agenda they are for, I think…..or are they for the liberty of Scotland??.Something more related to our country might be more appropriate….Could have been worse.Could have been the cocksquad.

That reminds me of that time back in the ’70′s when the young, new legislators Dick Riley, Alex Sanders, Jean Toal and Alex Harvin and a few other wannabes started calling themselves the “Young Turks!” It took about 18 seconds for their detractors to start calling them the young turds.

One of these guys should really be running for Lt. Governor. Besides, any of them can run for higher office in 2010 and still have their Senate seat to fall back on (like Mulvaney is already doing).

Will, you are cracking me up… “are members of the “Gay Confederate/ Midget Socialist” Caucus.” ROFLOL. I’ve always preferred calling our favorite midget socialist “Boss Hog” and you might even want to try out “Zorro the gay blade” for the Senate’s temporary president. LMAO! Naaah, yours is much more original!

William Wallace was drawn and quartered, and his head put on a pike, but Scotland remains separate from England.

This is one of the most interesting stories I’ve read on Fits. How do the Dems stack up?
