A Sumter County Councilman could be placed on a sex offender registry and removed from his office pending the outcome of a peeping tom violation, The (Sumter, S.C.) Item is reporting Tuesday.
County Councilman Artie Baker was busted peeping on his estranged wife on January 3, according to The Item.
Ironically, Barker’s fate will come down to whether or not S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford views his alleged crime as one of “moral turpitude,” which has historically been defined as “conduct that is considered contrary to community standards of justice, honesty or good morals.”

Does it count as a sex offense if you’re peeping at your wife?
