Jenerette Wins Poll Of Current SC First District Candidates
There’s obviously a friggin’ cattle call of Palmetto politicians considering (or about to enter) the U.S. First Congressional District race, but of the candidates who had announced their bids before U.S. Rep. Henry Brown’s surprise retirement announcement a week ago, Tea party activist and military mom Katherine Jenerette (R – Myrtle Beach) is the current favorite … at least according to Charleston Post and Courier readers.
According to an online poll published by the newspaper this week, Jenerette is supported by 31 percent of respondents compared to 20 percent who are supporting democrat Robert Dobbs.
Another democrat, Robert Burton, received the support of 14 percent of respondents.
Finishing a disappointing fourth place in the poll with 12 percent support was former lobbyist principal Carroll A. “Tumpy” Campbell III (RINO – Columbia).
Clearly, the poll doesn’t reveal much of anything at this stage of the race … well, other than the fact that Jenerette’s got some legitimate insider, grassroots support.

Jenerette most definitely does NOT have “some legitimate insider, grassroots support.”
All those votes are from out of state Free Republic members after someone posted a plea.
Why do you even try to comment on coastal issues. You are either clueless or deliberately distorting Jenerette’s popularity. If you are as good a friend to her as you appear, tell her to concentrate on her family until after the trial.

She’s my favorite. Give em hell, Kathy!

Is that a Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio in the back ground? Can’t believe you figured out how to get a beautiful woman and radio in the background.

This won’t go past any preliminary vetting. Any cursory google search, or review of The Sun News indicates that the ‘family values’ she’s running on probably are lies. Take Mark Sanford’s skeletons, mix them together with sexual perversity deserving of capital punishment, and thats roughly what her campaign is going to get hit by.
More importantly though, she’s inferior. She brags about mediocre credentials (does anyone want to look at how many masters degrees and lieutenant’s commissions are handed out, or how many people drive trucks, or how many people had an entry-level job for a congressman, etc.) – quite simply, your typical politician is quite a bit more accomplished. Her stance on issues is equally light-weight. She simply says that she’s for…fighting them over there (cause thats how insurgencies work, fight them in their territory a while and then mom calls them home for dinner and they cant come over to our turf), economics…(lets not spend more money), Mexicans (no amnesty); and the previously mentioned family issues.
That being said, all you nut-job teabaggers. Go ahead and split up the GOP. Plenty of us out there would appreciate it.

OMDB: She’s good hair, though.

I was first, but then my long-windedness lost that for me. Lesson learned.
“Focus on her family till after the trial.” Probably beyond. This guys gonna get crucified.

A lot of pain in that face. Too bad.

Well if she wins she’ll join Marsha Blackburn in the “Decently Hot Congresswomen” category.
By countryboy on January 11th, 2010 at 7:45 pm
With all the negative comments, Jenerette must be a serious threat. Like the guy who said her votes were from out of state. How would anyone know where the on-line votes were from?
By Tyler on January 11th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Katharine Jenerette has run for North Myrtle Beach city council and Senator Dick Elliott and lost both times. She lost last year to Brown, and she will come in at least third(or 4th, or 5th, or 6th) to at least two other people in her county who plan on throwing their hat in the race.
Besides which, would you really want a Congressman trying to do work in Washington with their home in turmoil? Their head wouldn’t be in the game.
By Tyler on January 11th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Typo…she ran against Dick Elliott and lost.

Awesome, Sic Billy, you can simply cut and paste all the love letters to Mark Sanford and replace his name with hers. And when her Falukeneresque family life becomes public fodder, you can pretend you never saw it coming – like a Dondrail Pickens off tackle run.

Jenerett has also run for NMB city council (lost) and school board (lost). She has never worked on a local GOP campaign like many of us. She claims she has been a part of numerous statewide campaigns but nobody believes it. Her hubby has run for office 3 times and lost ecah one. They are just after glory even if it takes 7 more elections.

Trey: Thanks for the kind words and the sharp eyes on the Trans-Oceanic Radio in the back ground. I actually have a complete collection of Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio’s from the original WWII Clipper-Bomber to the last production of the Model R-7000, including an R-520/URR with the US Army Signal Corps ID plate on the front.
I wish SC Politics was so simple! I had a funny feeling this was going to be interesting.
Thanks! That’s all for now – Katherine

As if straw polls weren’t rigged/unproportionate/unrepresentative/and way under-representative et cetera, et cetera enough to begin with, throw into the mix that it was an internet poll…
Winner: Katherine Jenrette (Psycho – M. Beach)

I haven’t heard of this candidate yet, but if she is a real conservative, I’ll support her. I’ll investigate. Over My Dead Body – you must really be a knucklehead. There is real CHANGE coming in 2010 after what those other knuckleheads in D.C. have done.
By SnakeMD on January 14th, 2010 at 5:08 pm
Wow, Over My Dead Body, is definitely a fraction in the other camp. A little mud slinging to open up the debate shows what a yellow dog democrat you are. As for the mud, Katherine received most of her training in the mud, so she will do just fine with all the negatives you can toss out.

Why does her website say that she went to The University of South Carolina – “Coastal Carolina” ?? As if it’s a branch of USC, it’s not. At all. She may want to update or familarize herself with her own education before seriously considering a run.
By berkeley voter on January 21st, 2010 at 1:31 pm
Actually RC, Coastal was a branch of USC until recently.
What I find more interesting is that the USC alumni directory list her masters degree in Library Science. She never mentions it and tries to imply her masters is in History. Maybe she’s misled her employer. Who knows?

Wow what people will do and say to keep someone down. Sounds to me as if Katherine Jenerette sure does make some people uneasy. I wonder why that is?
I think it sounds like another candidate who has run for VP interesting.
Maybe I need to look closer at her if the left is dogging so much. Usually that means someone is scared…..
By Over My Dead Body on February 15th, 2010 at 2:02 pm
Scared of those who condone incestuous child rape! Yessiree, you could certainly call me afraid of that. Amazing what you supporters will do to support anyone who hasn’t succeeded in life – like yourselves.
